New Vossen Wheels for the Lexus RX and Cadillac SRX

May 28, 2011

I wouldn't say that these would be my favorite wheels. I'm not a fan of the design, but to each its own...

BMW 1 Series M: The "Reasonable Doubt" of BMWs...

(I love the Jersey plates on this car, and I know insurance for this car will be through the roof)

According to the Detroit Bureau, the BMW 1 Series M is only going to be out for a year. Designated a 2011 model, the 1M is just rolling into showrooms, but it will go out of production no later than December of this year. BMW drops hints that a future update may be in the works, but it could be some time before a model dubbed 1M returns to the States because the more conventional 1-Series is about to go through a significant update. There’s typically a delay of as much as several years before BMW adds a high-performance M edition of its conventional products.

Whatever it is called, the new 1M is the lowest-priced model – adjusting for inflation – ever to roll out of the M brand. Sharing many of its underpinnings with the slightly larger BMW M3, the newer addition features a 3.0-liter, twin-turbo inline-six powertrain that can launch it from 0 to 60 in just 4.7 seconds. Top speed is electronically limited at 155 mph. The proposed MSRP is $46,150, however if you add all the tchotchkes you can possibly add to it, it raises the price to $54,100.

Side note: I called this post the BMW 1 Series M: The Reasonable Doubt of BMWs because Jay-Z's first album, Reasonable Doubt, was suppose to be his only album, and we've seen what happened since then.

Cor Wheels releases photos of a Range Rover with Cor LLadros Wheels

May 27, 2011

Power, confidence, and style all describe COR’s LLadros forged wheels, which is why they were the perfect choice for this Fuji White Range Rover. These forged three-piece, ten-spoke wheels wear a Super White powder coat finish to match the White exterior paint and are contrasted by shining chrome lips. Up front, this Range Rover wears the massive 24-inch LLadros wheels with a 3-inch lip in the front, while the rear boasts the same 24-inch diameter and an even more impressive 4-inch lip. So, while this Range Rover may never see off-road duty, it will undoubtedly conquer the pavement with it’s COR LLadros wheels.

Super cute... and I'm not just referring to the photos either.

Interesting Story of the Day: Mercedes SLS AMG, Middle School Kids, and Autoblog

The guys at Autoblog had an interesting idea. They wanted to see how middle school kids would view/interpret a Mercedes SLS AMG. The students are from Sycamore Canyon School, tucked away in Newbury Park, California and their challenge was to draw what they saw, and draw what they liked using a blank piece of paper and drawing instruments and they had only about 45 minutes to complete their work.

According to Autoblog,
Most knew about the car, thanks to heaps of automotive media coverage, but few had seen one this closely in person. The kids were impressed by the automatic rear spoiler and flashy wheels, but it was the signature doors that mesmerized everyone on campus (we must have opened/closed them two dozen times).
(Note: The kids live in California, they would know what a Mercedes look like faster than they would know a Dodge Neon)

Like Ivanka Trump once said "a young person provides a fresh outlook on a subject". With that said, the final pieces are honestly not bad. The lucky group of students are a part of an art club, and sadly, they draw better than I do. Example: Look at Elizabeth's drawing...

She may be half my age, but she's twice a better illustrator than I will ever be. Where was she when I was crying my way through drawing classes in college?

I'm happy that Autoblog did this, I'm even happier that the school allowed them to do that. I love stories like this one. For more info about this story, just click on the photos, and it'll take you to the original post.

Asanti and Lexani Show off a Chrysler 300 and a Porsche Panamera

The folks at Asanti and Lexani (same company, different divisions) decided to show off a 2012 Chrysler 300 as well as a Porsche Panamera, both with a great taste in shoes. Check it out...

I guess Paris Hilton will be looking for a new driver...

According to TMZ, a driver was attempting to take a black SUV out of the driveway, and instead hit the beloved Pink Bentley Continental GT that the West Coast Customs crew customized. Damages are roughly $5000.

I may not agree with the color scheme, but it's literally the best Bentley Continental GT out.

*sighs* Such a beautiful car...

Guess Which Customization Shop Is Creating the World's First Rolls Royce Phantom Matte Rosso Corsa Conquistador?

May 26, 2011

The dynamic brotherly duo of Platinum Motorsports in LA has the pleasure of creating the First Rolls Royce Mansory Conquistador outside of the haus of Mansory. Of course, that's not good enough for the Keshishyan brothers and they're taking it a step further by painting it a matte Rosso Corsa (Rosso Corsa = basic red when speaking "Ferrari")

Platinum Motorsports hasn't released much details about it, but they did take some photos and posted them.

I'm anxious to see the finished product. Maybe it can change my initial reaction, because I'm not sold on the matte red.

We shall see....

June 22nd, Pioneer Electronics Unveils A New Way to Use Apps in the Car.

Pioneer Electronics Inc., the leader in aftermarket car electronics technology, today unveiled its latest innovation, the game-changing AppRadio™. Drawing upon Pioneer’s technology integration expertise and following its “Rethinking Connectivity” strategy, AppRadio is the first in-vehicle product designed to utilize the processing power, storage capacity, network connectivity and apps of the iPhone and iPod touch (4th generation) as the primary source for its information and entertainment capabilities. Pioneer’s AppRadio also features the industry’s first capacitive touchscreen that enables control of most functions using similar touch and motion gestures as many of today’s most popular smartphones, but in a larger 6.1-inch screen designed specifically for safer in-vehicle operation. For safety and convenience, AppRadio features built-in Bluetooth1 for hands-free calling and an input for an optional vehicle mounted rear facing back-up camera.

When connected to an iPhone and iPod touch (4th generation) with the Pioneer AppRadio application and compatible third-party apps, the full potential of the AppRadio is unleashed, bringing an ever-expanding world of convenience and connectivity directly into the dash. The Pioneer AppRadio application, available free in the App Store, enables access to the data and connectivity of the iPhone 4, providing users the ability to access Google Maps and stay current with recommended compatible third-party apps.

Google Maps appears on the AppRadio screen with the same mapping information and features that consumers are familiar with. The system enables users to search2, route to locations, view route directions and create bookmarks with the ability to drop pins directly on the map.

Pioneer has initially partnered with several app providers to integrate AppRadio compatibility into a few of today’s most popular apps, formatted specifically for safe use and access in the vehicle. AppRadio compatible apps are now available including INRIX, MotionX-GPS Drive, Rdio, and Pandora Radio.

Pioneer’s AppRadio will be available in late June with a suggested retail price below $500.

The Pioneer AppRadio App is available now from the App Store for the iPhone 4 and iPod touch (4th generation) or at www.apple.com/itunes/.

Recapping Episode Three of Funkmaster Flex's Full Throttle (with Nicki Minaj)

May 25, 2011

The Full Throttle Series Continues, and episode three wasn't bad at all. Funkmaster Flex was presented with a semi-challenge of customizing a Mustang for one of his sponsors- Nos Energy Drink.

I'm starting to notice a pattern when it comes to Flex when he customizes Mustangs. It's starting to look a little repetitive, meaning all the Mustangs are blue with the white or orange racing stripe, body kit, etc. It'll be interesting if he's presented with a challenge (A convertible Mustang that's not blue without racing stripes). One thing I can say about this episode is that they showed the customization process a little longer than usual, which is what the show is about.

The guest for the day happened to be Nicki Minaj. Although the interview wasn't bad, they didn't talk about any automobiles. I do know she was a part of last season, and with that interview, she discussed how she likes the "New School" cars (Ranges and Bentleys). I would have liked for it to have gone towards the automotive side because that's a topic that women rarely get interviewed about. But what can you do?

If you missed the entire show, check it out here:

Stay tuned for next week's episode. One of the guests is someone that I've been waiting for, and ironically I've had a crush on for a long time. I'm such a girl...

Peeking at the Chrome Audi from West Coast Customs.

Even though the Audi only took up about 15% of the photo, it was the attention getter. It was enough to make me send a twitter message to Ryan's Crew, and I rarely do that.

Bravissimo and Salute to West Coast Customs. I did some investigating and I found info, shots, and video about the car. Apparently I'm about several months too late, because they've shown off this car at the 2011 CES show. But I haven't seen anything about this car until I was looking at the WCC site.

The chrome was completed by Spectra Chrome, and WCC added their touches to complete the Audi R8 also known as Tron.

But my question is how come I haven't seen this anywhere else? Not even in the Custom Car Magazines that put non-exotic factory cars on the cover. I guess the only way for me to love an Audi R8 is if West Coast Customs puts their hands on it...

I wonder how my Envoy would look as a Chrome SUV?

Giovanna Wheels Shows off a Transformer Edition Camaro

May 20, 2011

This car does have two different wheel designs. On the driver's side happens to be the Martuni Wheels by Giovanna and the passenger's side happens to be the Cancun Wheels by Gianelle.

I see they were doing donuts before they took the photos... But the car looks great.

Photos of the Day Co-Starring the Nissan Murano CrossCabriolet

The interesting guys at Car and Driver had their opportunity to test drive the 2011 Nissan Murano CrossCabriolet. I don't know who was the brainchild behind the article as well as the photo shoot, but was interesting to say the least...

Apparently mythological beings do buy plants from Home Depot and drink Starbucks coffee.

Project: Audi A7 by Ghost Motorsport

The guys at Ghost Motorsport in LA are working their magic on a black Audi A7. I'm happy they chose the Audi A7, since that's the number one Audi listed on my radar.

They're still working on the car, but as of now, they've added custom painted wheels, smoked lights and color matched grille and mouldings. Next up is the interior treatment; creating a custom console and more.

Looking good. Can't wait to see the finalized piece.

Car Show Coverage: 2011 Dub Car Show: Charlotte

Thank goodness Dub acted fast and displayed their photos early from the Dub Car Show: Charlotte. Before I found their gallery, all the other photos from this show SUCKED. But if I say that, I'm a bad person. No, I just know photography, that's why I'm displaying Dub's photos because theirs is media ready. Plus I'm not a fan of facebook photographers.

Anyway, back to the show. Charlotte had a great turnout: With customized cars and attendees. On to the photos... Dub did a great job on the photos by the way.
