Bernie's Car Show Coverage: 2016 Los Magnificos Car Show

Nov 28, 2016

Los Magnificos Car Show is one of Houston's most dependable car shows. Started back in 1982, Los Magnificos has grown to become one of the most largest custom car shows with over 650 cars as a part of the show. Although there's four Los Magnificos shows in the state of Texas, Houston is the flagship show- the one that everyone wants to be a part of...

I was first introduced to Los Magnificos in 2012, when one of the guys at 713 Motoring told me about it. After doing some research about it, I knew I had to go. After four years, on November 20th, I was able to experience my first Los Magnificos (and also my first Houston) car show. Everything was new to me, I saw slabs, daytons, and PLENTY of lowriders. I saw some familiar car clubs- Nokturnal, Xplizit, and Swift car clubs, but I was introduced to some new car clubs like HouTex Ryders, Illegal Toys, and City Style. There were a lot of vehicles where the doors were altered- gullwing, suicide, Lamborghini style, rotating, and down (you'll see what I mean). A couple of vehicles had PSA announcements in the trunk. But most importantly, I noticed a LOT of Texas pride- between the customizations on the vehicles and also the attendees wearing their finest Texas attire. All in all, I felt like I was in a Paul Wall video.

Houston won me over with this show, and I definitely have to return next year for their 35th annual show. I had a great time at the show, the only complaint I had was that the NRG Park has horrible lighting. It's too warm. The 2016 Los Magnificos Car Show was a great way to end of my 2016 car show season. To see more photos, check out Bernie's 2016 Los Magnificos Car Show Gallery.

Bernie's Car Show Coverage: 2016 SEMA Show

Nov 8, 2016

Judging by the photo above, it's hard to believe that just 15 hours prior, the 2016 SEMA show ended. The Speciality Equipment Marketing Association trade show allows those in the automotive industry to see what's new and the latest trends as well as how the product enhances the look of a vehicle, network with companies, learn how to grow your business in various ways, and also hobnob with some celebrities in the automotive world. Held at the Las Vegas Convention Center, attendees from as far as the other side of the world gathered to celebrate what was SEMA's 50th Anniversary last week....

...and I was there to take it all in. The 2016 SEMA show was my seventh show, but every first Tuesday in November (sometimes it's the last Tuesday of October), I cry tears of joy when the monorail that I'm on arrives at the Convention Center and I'm staring down at all of the cars. Sounds a little dramatic, but I literally want to hug random strangers because that's how excited I am. Yes, I live for SEMA.

This year, I noticed a lot of Nissan GTRs, Lamborghini Huracans, Ferraris (but only the 458, 488, and dare I say it- the LaFerrari), and McLarens as the vehicles on display, widebody cars and trucks in general, full sized pickup trucks- you know- Dodge Ram, Ford F-250/F-350, Toyota Tundra, GMC Sierra, Chevy Silverado, vehicles wearing Rotiform, Forgiato, or Vorsteiner wheels, vehicles with Toyo Tires, vehicles with Accuair suspension, a few Porsches- half of which had the increasingly popular Rauh-Welt Begriff body kit (the other half were the 918, 911R, and GT3RS models), and then I noticed some vehicles that refused to fit in the categories above. Oh, and my personal opinion- best use of booth space was a tie between Vossen Wheels and their maze of signatures which led you into their private gallery with a bartender in the middle and the chic Giovanna Wheels' black and white booth. Basically the booth was split diagnally black and white with three black and white cars parked in the middle- and no, I'm not being biased because they used my favorite colors.

Originally, I intended to have multiple posts about the 2016 SEMA Show, but I haven't had the chance to create them. Unfortunately, this is the only SEMA recap I could do. To see the rest of my photos, check out Bernie's 2016 SEMA Show Gallery: Day 1, Day 2, Day 3, and Day 4 (each day has it's own gallery).

Bernie's Car Show Coverage: Caffeine and Exotics: October 2016

Oct 25, 2016

On October 16th, 2016, Caffeine and Exotics held their last show of the year. Held in the main parking lot of Atlanta’s Lenox Square Mall, Caffeine and Exotics is the younger sibling to Caffeine and Octane.

Caffeine and Exotics had plenty of high end vehicles for spectators to admire. From the Ferrari 458, to the Lamborghini Aventador, to the Nissan GTR, Porsche GT4, even down to a $1+ million McLaren P1, there was plenty to drool over.

To see the rest of the photos, check out Bernie's Caffeine and Exotics: October 2016 gallery. See you next year Caffeine and Exotics.

Bernie's Car Show Coverage: Photos From Caffeine and Octane: October 2016

Oct 5, 2016

Caffeine and Octane is becoming more and more popular. Atlanta's most dependable car show is now becoming Georgia's most dependable car show. Held at the Perimeter Mall in Dunwoody, Caffeine and Octane allows car enthusiasts from all over to bring their cars and to show them off. It doesn't matter if you show up in a Mercedes Benz C450 AMG, Chevy El Camino SS, Ford Victoria, the coveted Buick Grand National, McLaren 570s, a Nissan GTR Skyline, or rolling in your 6-4- a Chevy Impala that has hydraulics-  just as long as you show up before the show ends.

Bernie's Car Show Coverage: Photos from Caffeine and Exotics: August 2016

Aug 24, 2016

Last Sunday was Atlanta’s most luxurious and exclusive car show- Caffeine and Exotics. Since the show is now a bi-monthly show, luxury and exotic car owners haven’t been dragging their feet to enter their cars so spectators (like me) can admire them.

Held in the main parking lot of Atlanta’s Lenox Square Mall, Caffeine and Exotics is the younger sibling to Caffeine and Octane. From Bentleys, Lamborghinis, McLarens, Ferraris, BMWs, Nissan GTRs, Audis, Dodge Vipers, and more, Caffeine and Exotics gives Atlanta something to look forward to… every other month.

This month had a couple of surprises. One of which was the unveiling to the new Bentley SUV, the Bentayga. I'm going to be completely honest, Bentley's models are a hit or a miss with me. I absolutely adore the Bentley Continental, but I can't seem to appreciate some of the older models, like the Arnage and the Azure. Although the Bentley Continental has a special place in my heart, I'm not a fan of the Bentayga. It's part Mulsanne and part Audi Q5. And two.... I'm fortunately to have already seen the Bentayga earlier this year at the New York Auto Show.

I'm sure you've realized that I showed the same car twice. I had to show off the widebody Ferrari F12 Berlinetta again. That's how good it looked. But to see the rest of the photos, check out Bernie's Caffeine and Exotics: August 2016 gallery.

Bernie's Museum Trip: Back to the Petersen Automotive Museum

Aug 22, 2016

Front of the Petersen Automotive Museum

While I was in Los Angeles, I absolutely had to go back to the Petersen Automotive Museum. Last year, the Petersen went under the knife, had some plastic surgery and underwent an extensive $125 million renovation. Basically everything was changed except the parking garage.

I couldn't wait to see the new changes.... and also the cars. Since the last time I was there in 2014, the interior is completely different- more modern, more interactive, and the vehicles are displayed as they're pieces of art (and they are).

BMW Z4 Roadster in the BMW and the Art of the Automobile exhibit.

1936 Bugatti Type 57SC Atlantic in the Rolling Sculpture Exhibit.

The first floor focused on automotive artistry with BMW and the Art of the Automobile and Rolling Sculpture Exhibits.

1967 Ford GT40 Mark III in the Race Cars for the Road exhibit
1933 Pierce Arrow Silver Arrow in the Precious Metals exhibit
The second floor had more going on with such exhibits as Cars Mechanical Institute, Race Cars for the Road, and Precious Metals.

1915 Ford Model T Runabout in the Why We Love the Automobiles exhibit

1966 Yamaha YDS-3 Batcycle that was on the Batman TV Show at the Automobiles in the Movies exhibit

Keep climbing those stairs to the third floor to take part of such exhibits as Why we Love the Automobile and literally my favorite exhibit- Automobiles in the Movies.

If you love automobiles, going to the Petersen automotive Museum is something you definitely have to experience. To check out the rest of the photos, go to Bernie's Trip to the Petersen Automotive Museum gallery.

Bernie's Car Show Coverage: Photos from Caffeine and Octane: August 2016

Aug 12, 2016

As the months go by, Atlanta's most dependable car show- Caffeine and Octane is getting more and more popular. Held at the Perimeter Mall in Dunwoody, Caffeine and Octane allows car enthusiasts from all over to bring their cars and to show them off. It doesn’t matter if you arrive in a Nissan, GTR Skyline, Chevy Chevelle, a sunshine yellow Porsche GT3, Audi R8, or an Oldsmobile 442- just as long as you arrive before the show ends.

Bernie's Car Show Coverage: Moulin Bistro Presents Cars and Cafe

Aug 9, 2016

On July 31st, Moulin Bistro held their monthly Cars and Cafe show in front of their shop in Newport Beach, CA...

I found my way there, literally by finding out about the show a few hours earlier. That morning, I drove from San Diego back to Los Angeles, and made a little stop in Newport Beach in Orange County. I wasn't sure what I was in for, I was just excited to check out a show that I've never been to before.

Much like Caffeine and Exotics in Atlanta, Cars and Cafe is a exotic car show. Not even so much luxury and exotic cars, but simply just exotic cars. I wasn't there long, only stayed for an hour, since the show was from 7-9am. There were Audi R8s, a classic Ford Shelby, many Lamborghini Aventadors, Gallardos and Hurancans, plenty of Ferraris, a Porsche 918 Spyder and a Porsche GT Carrera, and more.

Hopefully I will be able to return for another show. If I do, I definitely should have tried some coffee. To see the rest of the photos, check out Bernie's Cars and Cafe Gallery.

Bernie's Car Show Coverage: 2016 Extreme Autofest

Aug 8, 2016

For the past couple of years, I've mentioned on this blog that I always wanted to go to the Extreme Autofest show. Extreme Autofest is a car show that is basically opened to all cars- tuners, lowriders, and exotic cars are in one location. On July 30th, I followed through with what I wanted to do, and I attended the Extreme Autofest show at Qualcomm Stadium in San Diego.

Unfortunately, everything didn't go as planned. I arrived there much later than I intended- due to traffic and flight delays. However, spending 90 minutes at a car show is much better than not being able to go at all. San Diego was fun, or the little bit of the city I was able to see. All in all, I still had fun and most importantly, I got to photograph some cars I've never seen before.

Next year, I will be planning things differently. San Diego was fun, but I would rather check out the Extreme Autofest show in Anaheim. To see the rest of the photos, check out Bernie's 2016 Extreme Autofest: San Diego gallery.

Bernie's Car Show Coverage: 2016 King of the South Mega Show

Jul 20, 2016

On a very hot July 17th, 2016, the good guys of Street Whipz held their annual King of the South Mega Show. Held at the Atlanta Motor Speedway, car enthusiasts had the opportunity to show off their cars- both in looks and also in performance on the race track.

There were cars with matte paint and cars with candy coated paint, cars on Forgiato Wheels and cars on Amani Forged Wheels, there were donks and there were even more donks. But the most important factor is that I was not disappointed. To see the rest of the photos, check out Bernie's 2016 King of the South Mega Show gallery.

Bernie's Car Show Coverage: 2016 V103 Car and Bike Show Coverage

On July 16th, Atlanta radio station V103 had their annual Car and Bike Show. Held at the Georgia World Congress Center in Downtown Atlanta, The V103 Car and Bike Show always gives spectators a two-for-one special- meaning they get to look at some great looking cars and enjoy live entertainment from such acts like Fat Joe, T.I., the Migos, Young Jeezy, and more.

Of course, this is an automotive blog so I’m only going to touch on the vehicles. The spectators had the opportunity of checking out the cars that ride around the streets of Atlanta and some adjacent cities... Plenty of donks, plenty of muscle cars, plenty of old schools cars, a couple of exotics and luxury cars, enough to keep the crowd to entertained for hours.

Bernie's Car Show Coverage: Photos from Caffeine and Octane: July 2016

Jul 6, 2016

The day before the Fourth of July, Caffeine and Octane held their seventh show of 2016. Held at the Perimeter Mall in Dunwoody, Caffeine and Octane allows car enthusiasts from all over to bring their cars and to show them off. It doesn’t matter if you arrive in a Dodge Challenger, Chevy Bel Air, Chevy Camaro, A Delorean, Buick Grand National, or a Lamborghini Murcielago, just as long as you arrive before the show ends.

Even though it was very hot (I was sweating by 8:30), that didn't slow down the attendance- both with cars and also with fans of what showed up. I did want to show off this Lexus LC500, which will be released in 2017.

Bernie's Car Show Coverage: Butler Tire and Vossen Wheels Summer Meetup

Jun 29, 2016

On a very hot Saturday, June 25th, Butler Tire and Vossen Wheels teamed up for their Summer Meetup. Held at Butler Tire's John's Creek location, a mixture of luxury/exotic and tuner/import cars showed up to this event.

A lot of gorgeous vehicles did show up, like this Mercedes Benz C450 AMG on Vossen Wheels and Porsche 911 Carrera S on Vossen Wheels above, as well as some Nissan GTRs, Lexus, M-series BMWs (spotted an M3, M4, and M5), a couple of Lamborghinis, a gorgeous Bentley Continental GT and Audi S7, and some slammed vehicles, and more.

Bernie's Car Show Coverage: 2016 Stuntfest Car Show

Jun 28, 2016

Like I mentioned in the last post, I attended two car shows on June 19th. The first one was Caffeine and Exotics, the second show was no other but Stuntfest.

This year's Stuntfest show had a few changes. After what happened last year (the traffic getting into the show- took me 90 minutes), the Stuntworld guys heard everyone's complaints and took action to correct the traffic situation. Despite the few location changes, the 2016 Stuntfest show proved that there were more than enough people that were willing to attend the show... which is all that matters to me.

There were donks and boxes, and a few feet away, I spotted a Maybach and a Nissan GTR. There were hardtop and convertible cars. There were plenty of cars on Amani Forged, Forgiato Wheels, and Dub Wheels. There were wrapped cars, cars with candy coated paint, vehicles with cameleon style of paint, a few matte cars, and most importantly- no rust buckets.

Like I said in the past- Stuntfest has proven that nothing can slow down or stop this car show- not the weather and definitely not the location changes.  To see the rest of the photos, check out Bernie's 2016 Stuntfest Car Show gallery. See you next year...

Bernie's Car Show Coverage: Caffeine and Exotics June 2016

Jun 27, 2016

Sunday, June 17th was one busy day. I had not one, but two car shows to go to. The first one was Atlanta's most luxurious car show- Caffeine and Exotics.
