Bernie's Car Show Coverage: 2015 SEMA Show

Nov 16, 2015

November 3-6 2015 was the 49th annual SEMA Show. Held at the Las Vegas Convention Center, the Speciality Equipment Marketing Association Show has one purpose- to bring those who are in the automotive industry together to see the latest products in the industry as well as to see a lot of blood, sweat, and tears in the customization of vehicles. It's a great opportunity for networking and to see how cars are customized all over the world.

I'm greatful for the opportunity of attending this show. Although it was my sixth show, I'm still considered a "newbie". Believe me, there's guys that have attended SEMA for the past couple of decades. Even Chip Foose has proclaimed that he attended his first SEMA show back in 1984 (ironically the year I was born).

It took me awhile to put this post together, because I wanted to post updates via social media and then I can show them all off within this post. If you were able to follow me through social media (@CarShowBernie on Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook), I posted as often as I could while still being in the moment.

SEMA always marks the end of the car show season for me and I'm so anxious to kick off the 2016 car show season.  For more photos, check out Bernie's 2015 SEMA Coverage: Day 1, Day 2, Day 3, and Day 4 galleries.

Bernie's Car Show Coverage: 2015 Torres Empire Lowrider Show

Aug 27, 2015

On August 23rd, 2015, I attended my second Torres Empire Lowrider Supershow. Held at the Los Angeles Convention Center, this car show is the largest indoor Lowrider show in the entire world- which means I didn't want to miss it. When I checked out the Torres Empire website a few weeks ago, every aspect of the show was sold out- cars, bikes, motorcycles, the outdoor car hop, so I knew I was in for a great time.

The number one reason why I have a facination with lowriders is the attention to detail in the customization process. No matter how hard you try, you can't rush anything- especially the pinstriping and the engraving.

I was overwhelmed with all of the vehicles that participated with the show. It wasn't just based on quantity, but the quality of them. Not limited to just cars, this particular show also highlighted motorcycles and bikes, which is still a part of the Lowrider family. I didn't just photograph lowriders at the Torres Empire show, I emerged myself into Los Angeles culture.

If the sneak peek wasn't enough, feel free to check out Bernie's 2015 Torres Empire Lowrider Supershow gallery. Thank you Los Angeles, and I look forward to see you next year.

Bernie's Car Show Coverage: Caffeine and Exotics: August 2015

Aug 19, 2015

Thank goodness Summer is winding down (I hate the heat), but unfortunately Atlanta's most exclusive (and expensive) car show is coming to an end for the year. Sunday was the second to the last Caffeine and Exotics of 2015. Held at Atlanta's Lenox Square Mall, this month's show was actually bigger than previous months. There were plenty of Lamborghinis, Bentleys, Mercedes Benzes, BMWs, Aston Martins, Maseratis, Corvettes, Jaguars, Porsches, Lotus, GTRs, NSXs, HOWEVER.....

How did this Scion get into the gate, and was parked like everyone else? I'm really serious right now...

Bernie's Car Show Coverage: 2015 King of the South Mega Show

Aug 6, 2015

On August 2nd, Street Whipz held their annual King of the South Mega Show. This year, it was held at the Atlanta Motor Speedway where some of the participants got to test their cars on the race track. Although it was extremely hot during the show, I had a great time...

There were some interesting cars. Plently of Donks and Boxes. Plenty of vehicles on Forgiatos, Dubs, Savinis, and Amanis. However, the owner of this Bentley Continental GT broke my heart.

Do I really need to explain?

To check out the rest of the photos, head over to Bernie's King of the South Mega Show gallery.

Bernie's Car Show Coverage: 2015 V103 Car and Bike Show

Jul 29, 2015

Big Boi's Chevy Impala

On July 25th, Atlanta radio station V103 had their annual Car and Bike Show. Held at the Georgia World Congress Center in Downtown Atlanta, The V103 Car and Bike Show always gives spectators a two-for-one special- meaning they get to look at some great looking cars and enjoy live entertainment from such acts like Monica, Rich Homie Quan, Young Dro, 2 Chainz, and more.

Of course, this is an automotive blog so I'm only going to touch on the vehicles. Celebrities such as Big Boi, Future, The Dream, TI, and more temporarily parted ways with their cars so the spectators get to see what they ride in as well as checking out the cars that ride around the streets of Atlanta  (although I did notice some cars from Miami).

Enough talking because I know you want to see a range of cars that go from Donks and Lowriders, to Camaros and Bentleys. To see the rest of the photos, check out Bernie's V103 Car and Bike Show gallery

Bernie's Car Show Coverage: 2015 Forgiato Fest Show

Jul 16, 2015

After the success of the past three shows, Forgiato Wheel Company held their fourth annual Forgiato Fest Car Show. Car enthusiasts gathered at the Miami Beach Convention Center to see some great looking cars. From as far north as Ohio (Spademade), to as far west as Houston (713 Motoring, however, I honestly don't remember if there were any west coast cars), to as far close as around the corner (Exclusive Motoring, BTS Customs, and MC Customs), there were some classic Donks, Rolls Royces, few Lowriders and Hellcats, couple of Corvettes, and quite a few cars in the parking lot that left me wondering why they weren't a part of the show.

Bernie's Car Show Coverage: Caffeine and Octane: July 2015

Jul 9, 2015

Although it was a holiday weekend, July's Caffeine and Octane still packed a punch. Held at Perimeter Mall (outside of Atlanta), this Caffeine and Octane had some interesting eye candy. From the exotic Lamborghini Aventador, to some classic cars and trucks, to some cars I've never seen before (Studebaker and a Sunbeam Tiger), and even Atlanta's favorite old school muscle cars (the Chevy Chevelle) has made an appearance.

Bernie's Car Show Coverage: 2015 Donk Ryde or Die Car Show

Jul 3, 2015

Last Sunday was the Donk Ryde or Die Car Show held waaaaaayyyyyyyyy out in Conyers, Georgia. Although Sunday was the rain date (originally scheduled for Saturday), this show wasn't exactly the biggest, but it did have some quality cars. Remember, when it comes to car shows- quality over quanity, and I'm very harsh when it comes to car shows. If it wasn't for the weather, I'm confident that this show would have been much bigger.

Bernie's Car Show Coverage: Caffeine and Exotics June 2015

Jun 24, 2015

Last Sunday wasn't just Father's Day, it was the fourth Caffeine and Exotics of 2015. Caffeine and Exotics isn't just any car show, it's exotic and luxury vehicles for the spectators of Atlanta to enjoy... and may purchase. Held in the main parking lot of Lenox Square Mall, spectators had the opportunity to view vehicles from manufactors such as: Audi, Lamborghini, Aston Martin, Lotus, Ferrari, Rolls Royce, Bentley, Alfa Romero, Range Rover, Ford (some GTs and a Shelby... not Taurus or Focus), Chevrolet (Corvette- not the Aveo), Mercedes, BMW, Nissan, Porsche, and more.

Bernie's Car Show Coverage: Caffeine and Octane: June 2015

Jun 11, 2015

This past Sunday was Atlanta's most dependable car show, Caffeine and Octane. Held in the parking lot of Perimeter Mall, cars from all over came to be a part of this show. There were vintage cars, old schools, exotic cars, luxury cars, import cars, American muscle, and even a former New York City fire truck.

Bernie's Car Show Coverage: Caffeine and Exotics: May 2015

May 18, 2015

May 17th was the third Caffeine and Exotics of 2015. Held at Atlanta's Lenox Square Mall, this exclusive car show is one not to be missed. From Lamborghini, McLaren, Corvettes, Ferrari, Aston Martin, Porsche, Mercedes Benz, BMW, and more, Caffeine and Exotics gives Atlanta something to look forward to.

Bernie's Car Show Coverage: 2015 NOPI Nationals Show

May 8, 2015

I have a special place in my heart for NOPI Nationals (NOPI for short). NOPI was the very first car show I ever attended- September 2007. However, last week, NOPI had their first Georgia show in the Northern area of Metro Atlanta.

No longer limiting their shows to just imports, NOPI is now open to extremely customized lowriders, SUVs, old schools, muscle and luxury/exotic vehicles.

And of course a NOPI show wouldn't be complete without some NOPI Chics.

Bernie's Car Show Coverage: 2015 Stuntfest Car Show

Apr 29, 2015

For the first time in a few years, the Stuntfest Car Show had some gorgeous weather. Come rain or shine, this car show has proven that nothing can slow down or completey stop this show. There were old schools and new schools, there were hardtops and convertibles, there were vehicles on Asantis, Forgiatos, Lexanis, Savinis, Dubs, and Amanis, there were wrapped vehicles and candy painted vehicles, and of course there were plenty of vehicles that provided plenty of live entertainment.

No matter what, I can always count on the Stuntworld guys to plan a great show. I have no complaints, except for the traffic situation getting into the show.

Bernie's Car Show Coverage: Caffeine and Exotics- April 2015

Apr 28, 2015

Remember the saying "April showers bring May flowers?" This past Sunday was the rain date for the second Caffeine and Exotics of the year. Held in the main parking lot of Lenox Square Mall, car lovers of all ages gathered to observe some gorgeous, luxurious cars. What I love most about this show is the fact that they're strict about what vehicles can be a part of the show.

Thanks to Motorcars of Atlanta, the star of the show was this McLaren 570S, however, it wasn't my first time seeing it. McLaren debuted the 570S a few weeks ago at the New York International Auto Show. They brought two to the Javits Convention Center- an orange one and a gray one. Of course, the orange one was purchased by an attendee of the Auto Show, but the gray one was shipped to the official McLaren dealership of Atlanta- Motorcars of Atlanta.

If the McLaren 570S is the star, then Butler Tire definitely provided the supporting actor. Butler Tire brought a Mercedes Benz S550 with a Lorinser Body Kit on it.

Not to be outdone by the 570S and the modified S550 was this Lamborghini Huracan. This Huracan was painted a rare matte color called Grigio Titans (Translation: Gray) and the brake calipers are Verde Ithaca (Translation: Lime Green).

Bernie's Top 10 Cars from the 2015 New York International Auto Show

Apr 12, 2015

Now that New York had another successful auto show, I can finally give my top 10 vehicles from the 2015 New York International Auto Show.  Although McLaren had a successful debut with the 570s, Aston Martin brought the Vulcan, Porsche brought the new Boxster Spyder, and the Ford GT finally made its way to New York, don't expect to see these cars on my list. This isn't a list solely based on performance, economically and enviromentally vehicles (although nothing on this list falls in the economically and environmentally categories). It's just based on what caught my attention, what made my eyes twinkle and what I would purchase. So in no specific order....

The Cadillac ATS-V Coupe. I fell in love with the Cadillac CTS-V coupe quite some time ago, because of the design and the power. But the ATS is the sportier, slightly smaller, will give better gas mileage (although if you get the -V option, I don't think you'll be worried about gas mileage) sibling of the CTS. MSRP: $61,500.

My favorite body type of all time from the Mercedes Benz family, the CL/CLS class. Nothing more to be said, except if I were to purchase one, I might as well go all the way and get one with the AMG trim level. MSRP: $106,500 for the CLS63 AMG.

The Ford Shelby 350R.... Better than the Ford Shelby 350GT. MSRP: Who knows, but rumor has it, it can not beat a Koenigsegg.

The Mercedes Benz S-600 Maybach. The back seats are uber luxurious. After sitting in one, you too would add it to your top 10 list. MSRP: $190,000

Aston Martin Vanquish Carbon Edition. I absolutely love black vehicles and manufacturers have been coming out with their own special edition vehicles. This particular Vanquish has carbon fiber trim (including the roof), top speed of 201 mph, 0-60 in 3.6 seconds, gives off 558 horsepower and 465 lb ft @ 5,500 rpm. But another feature I love about it...

The gear shift are the four buttons under the air vents. It's all in the details. MSRP: $319,000

Not sure if General Motors has given the green light for production, but I was honestly surprised with the Buick Avenir. Buick isn't exactly the most sleek, stylish, modern division of General Motors, and I'm definitely not in their audience's demographic. But there's something about the Avenir. As surprised as I was that Buick would create something like this, I would be as equally as surprised if this received the green light.

Audi RS7. The RS7 happens to be the most powerful RS model ever offered in the U.S, and it's even as fast as the Ferrari 458. MSRP: $106,500

Move over Dodge Challenger, there's a new Hellcat in town. Dodge rolled out the new Charger Hellcat. 707 horsepower with a top speed of 204 mph. Need any further convincing? MSRP: $64,000.

My favorite BMW- X6M. Plenty of space for shopping bags and plenty of horsepower- topping out at 567 horsepower. MSRP:  $103,000

And rounding out the list is this Rolls Royce Wraith. Not only is the Wraith the most sleek in the Rolls Royce family, it provides the most horsepower, topping off at 624. MSRP: $294,000

"Why isn't Bentley on this list?" Glad you asked. Bentley opted out of The New York International Auto Show to put their complete focus on the Bentayga. And also, I must pay homage to my dream Prius...

I had a great time at the New York International Auto Show, and I will definitely return next year. For more coverage from this show, check out Bernie's 2015 New York International Auto Show gallery.
