Bernie's Car Show Coverage: Caffeine and Octane: June 2015

Jun 11, 2015

This past Sunday was Atlanta's most dependable car show, Caffeine and Octane. Held in the parking lot of Perimeter Mall, cars from all over came to be a part of this show. There were vintage cars, old schools, exotic cars, luxury cars, import cars, American muscle, and even a former New York City fire truck.

Bernie's Car Show Coverage: 2015 Stuntfest Car Show

Apr 29, 2015

For the first time in a few years, the Stuntfest Car Show had some gorgeous weather. Come rain or shine, this car show has proven that nothing can slow down or completey stop this show. There were old schools and new schools, there were hardtops and convertibles, there were vehicles on Asantis, Forgiatos, Lexanis, Savinis, Dubs, and Amanis, there were wrapped vehicles and candy painted vehicles, and of course there were plenty of vehicles that provided plenty of live entertainment.

No matter what, I can always count on the Stuntworld guys to plan a great show. I have no complaints, except for the traffic situation getting into the show.

Bernie's Car Show Coverage: 2014 V-103 Car and Bike Show

Jul 16, 2014

July 12th 2013 was the 11th annual V-103 Car and Bike Show, held at the Georgia World Congress Center in Downtown Atlanta. This years' show was epic... both in a good way and bad way. There was a large turnout (it was packed by 4:00), great entertainment thanks to Trey Songz, August Alsina, Rich Homie Quan, T-Pain, Rico Love, and more. Most importantly, it was the largest amount of cars I've seen that were apart of this show.

Enough talking, time to show off some coverage.

Some of the best eye candy that was at the show was provided by Butler Tire. Between the white Chevy Corvette Stingray, the black Mercedes G Wagon, and the matte gray Dodge Challenger with glossy black racing stripes, everyone had to stop and photograph these three vehicles.

There was a great collection of lowriders there. However...

The clear top on this lowrider threw me off. Imagine getting caught in a storm while in this car. I would be scared out of my mind.

Another part of the show that is always interesting is the Celebrity Row, where some celebrities are kind enough to allow their cars to be a part of the show.

Puffy allowed his Ferrari California to be in the show

And former Yankee Gary Sheffield temporarily parted ways with his Porsche Panamera

Not sure who this Bentley Mulsanne belongs to, but it definitely had some attention grabbing gold Forgiato Wheels on it.

Here's something you don't see everyday, a Chrysler Prowler

Some more goodies...

Overall, it wasn't a bad show. I'm just glad that I was out of the building by the time the fight happened.   To see the rest of the coverage, check out Bernie's 2014 V-103 Car and Bike Show gallery.

Blacked Out Mercedes S550 On Vossen Wheels by Exclusive Motoring

Jun 25, 2014

Miami's Own, Exclusive Motoring, released photos of a gorgeous Mercedes Benz S550. However, this isn't just any S550, it's my favorite kind of S550. Exclusive Motoring blacked out the exterior of the car, painted blue brake calipers, and is now lowered, while wearing color matched Vossen VFS2 Wheels in 22 inches.

Have I mentioned that I love a blacked out vehicle lately?

Bernie's Car Show Coverage: 2014 Forgiatofest Show

Apr 30, 2014

On April 26th, I had the opportunity to attend my first Forgiatofest in Miami, FL. Located in Miami Beach Convention Center, cars from as far west as California (TS Designs and Xplicit Car Club brought some toys), from as far north as Ohio (thanks to Spademade), from as close as the other side of Miami (thanks to MC Customs and Exclusive Motoring), and all points in between joined together to show the one common goal- their love for Forgiato Wheels... and Grilles and Steering Wheels.

Aside from this being my first Forgiatofest, this was also my first car show in South Florida. Get ready for this coverage, because not only will you see Rolls Royces, but there will be some donk-inspired vehicles.

Phantom Hidden Headlight Grille for Dodge Challenger by DJ Grilles

Mar 31, 2014

The Phantom Hidden Headlight Grille is a revolutionary grille design by DJ Grilles that incorporates unique functionality and aggressive appearance. The patent pending removable headlamp covers use a race-car inspired 1/4 turn fastener to secure them to the primary grille frame. The covers have been track tested at over 140 MPH while installed.

The covers can be removed or installed in less than 10 seconds for the pair and require only one fastener per side.

The headlight opening is completely finished around the inside and out of the opening to assure an OEM quality installation with or without the removable cover installed. The grille is designed with stainless steel accent trim that can be custom painted to accompany other modifications to the vehicle.

Guess what? It's available now. If you're interested, call (949) 713-5554. And if you like the wheels, they're Forgiato's 24 inch Dieci Wheels.

The Battle of the Hummers: Ultimate Auto vs The Auto Firm

Mar 24, 2014

Photo borrowed from Car and Driver

In 2010, General Motors dismantled the whole Hummer brand. After the economy tanked, people changed how they spend money on automobiles. Finding Hummers on the road is few and far between, but that's not stopping people from getting them customized.

Within the past week, two of Florida's most respected customization shops (Ultimate Auto of Orlando and The Auto Firm of Miami) released instagram photos of Hummers they've customized. First up, Ultimate Auto and the Hummer H1 that they worked on.

An owner of this Hummer H1 came to Ultimate Auto to get his truck customized. He went to the right place because this H1 got the full UA treatment. Exterior customizations include Full Kevlar exterior, UA hand made bumpers, and roof rack, 40 inch Toyo Tires, JL Audio sound system, police lights for days, and my favorite comment... Enough Rigid lights to light up Yankee Stadium. (Side note: I love any comments that mention the New York Yankees)

Now for the interior... all black Napa leather and black suede, full JL Audio sound system with 3 TW5v3 13" subs mounted in the roof, zero space lost in the trunk and bass for days....

Ultimate Auto was kind enough to give you a instagram peek...

Now, further south in Miami we have the Auto Firm. One of their customers came to the Auto Firm for some work done on a Hummer H2, and of course they received the royal AF treatment.

Customizations include custom satin black paint, custom interior, sound system and 22 inch XD Series Wheels. And if you want to have a look at the vehicle...

The Auto Firm included an instagram peek as well.

But now for the main question... who won this round? Was it Ultimate Auto and their H1? Or was it The Auto Firm and their H2? I know one thing, both shops performed some miracles on these gas guzzling vehicles.

Ironically, both Hummers are for out-of-area clients. Remember, if and when you find a customization shop that does high quality work, please stick with them. That was a PSA announcement.
