John Capp, director for Global Active Safety at Cadillac, says future Cadillac technologies could include in-vehicle Doppler radar to spot obstructions or traffic jams ahead. Looking even further out, Capp sees autonomous vehicles that can communicate with each other, traffic signals and buildings, pointing to a world where cars may actually drive themselves.
"We see things moving toward a point in the future where perhaps vehicles won't crash," said Capp. "We work on developing advanced safety technologies for Cadillac that alert drivers to potential dangers around them."
Cadillac is already evolving its technology to come closer to the vision of a crash-proof car. Capp and his team of engineers, inventors and futurists have developed life-saving active safety technologies that are already in place on the 2010 Cadillac STS Platinum, including:
Lane departure warning – a camera-based lane detection system that warns the driver when he or she leaves their lane without signaling. The camera, mounted near the inside rearview mirror, identifies traffic lane markings and provides audible alerts.
Blind spot alert – twin radar beacons that detect an object in a vehicle's blind zone and provide a visual warning in the outside side mirror.
Adaptive cruise control – sensors detect objects in a vehicle's path and slow the vehicle down to avoid a collision.
"We're evolving those technologies to develop the capability where vehicles will be able to avoid crashes,” Capp said.
Let's watch, shall we...
Either way, if they need a test city to host this in, might I suggest Atlanta, to help these people who can not drive. That way it'll cut down on the Atlanta traffic that originates in Cobb and Gwinnett Counties.
Rust-Oleum introduces Specialty Color Shift Paint
Aug 30, 2010
New Rust-Oleum® Specialty Color Shift, an innovative spray paint that shifts the color of painted objects depending on the viewing angle, was developed to offer limitless opportunities for customization and self-expression. Rust-Oleum Color Shift provides an opportunity to upcycle the things they already own to express their unique personality and style.
Galaxy Blue
Color Shift contains advanced light interference pigments that change color depending on the light source, so painted objects display not one color - but a rainbow of rich colors, like blues, greens and purples. It can be applied to any surface – wood, metal, even plastic – and is durable enough for both indoor and outdoor use, so do-it-yourselfers have the power to transform any object they desire.
“Color Shift gives consumers the opportunity to go beyond selecting their favorite color to creating the ultimate custom effect,” said Jenny Thavenet, Assistant Brand Manager for Rust-Oleum® Specialty Paints. “It gives them the power to personalize their belongings like never before and create one-of-a-kind objects that makes them stand out from the crowd.”
Gamma Green
Most importantly, it makes it easy for auto enthusiasts to customize accessories on cars, trucks, motorcycles and ATVs to give them a one-of-a-kind look.
Color Shift works best when applied over a black primer or base coat. The more coats you apply, the more dramatic the effect. And, the any-angle comfort tip spray reduces finger fatigue to make project completion faster and easier.
Color Shift is available in two colors – Galaxy Blue and Gamma Green – at automotive, discount, home centers and hardware stores nationwide. For more information, visit www.rustoleum.com.

Infinity comes out with the new G25 vehicle.

Infinity announced a new addition to the Infinity G line family, the G25 Sedan, which features a 2.5 liter V6 engine. It’s scheduled to go on sale at Infiniti retailers nationwide in September, joining the Infiniti G37 Sedan, G37 Coupe, and G37 convertible (side note: the G37 replaced the ever popular G35). The MSRP starts out at about $31,000.
“With the new G25 Sedan, we’re broadening the appeal of the G Line with a model designed to provide an additional choice for buyers looking for a true luxury sedan, but who might not need the higher levels of performance provided by out larger engine0equipped G37 models.” Said Infiniti Vice President Ben Poore, speaking at a media event at the 60th annual Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance.
The new 2011 Infiniti G25 Sedan shares the same dynamic exterior, interior, and chassis as the G37, but with a smaller displacement engine. The 2.5-liter DOHC 24-value V6 produces 218 horsepower and 187 lb-ft of torque, versus the G37’s 3.7-liter DOHC 24-valve V6’s 328 horsepower and 269 lb-ft of torque. The G25 Sedan comes with a standard 7-speed auto transmission and is available in both rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive. Three models are offered: the G25 Sedan, G25 Sedan Journey, and G25x Sedan AWD.
The G25 Sedan’s extensive list of standard equipment includes leather-appointed seating, Shodo aluminum interior trim, 8-way power driver’s seat and 4-way power front passenger’s seat, Automatic Temperature Control, premium audio system with six speakers, XM Satellite Radio (of course, the subscription is required and is not included), and much more. Other standard features go fro 17-inch aluminum alloy wheels, HID Xenon headlights, 4-wheel Anti-lock Disc Braking System, Vehicle Dynamic Control, and Traction Control System. The G25 Journey models adds Rearview Monitor, heated front seats, heated outside mirrors, auto on/off headlights, Dual Zone Automatic Temperature Control and more.
Poore said “Even though the G25 is the entry vehicle into the G line, it offers an impressive array of luxury features- from leather appointed seats to satellite radio”. And Poore was so right…

UPDATED: Upcoming Car Show: 2010 NOPI/HIN Show, LA
Aug 25, 2010
LA!!!
UPDATED: NOPI/HIN changed the date and time of the LA Location. It is now being held on September 18th at the Los Angeles Convention Center. (I guess holding it at Angel Stadium would bring the LA Angels luck) The time will be from 4pm-11pm (that's a late show, especially if it's indoors.)
If you want to save a little cash, click on the banner, order the tickets online, type " BERNIENOPI " into the Promo Code.
Don't thank me now, but if you see a rapper that goes by the name of Glasses Malone, tell him Bernie says hi, since he doesn't come to Atlanta anymore.

Hankook Tire blesses LA Native with New Chevy Camaro
Aug 24, 2010
Deborah Jackson is one lucky gal. All she did was purchased a complete set of tires between April 1st and June 30th from an authorized Hankook retailer, and was entered into the Hankook Tire's baseball-themed Great Catch Chevrolet Camaro Giveaway and won the grand prize of a 2010 Chevrolet Camaro.
Jackson is a retired machine operator, and she thought that the phone call that she received was a pranked phone call. Jackson recalls asking repeatedly if the whole thing was a joke, but was reassured she had won. She says winning the Camaro is "a gift from God."
Soo Il Lee, president of Hankook Tire America Corp. said, "The Great Catch Giveaway program was designed to give back to those who purchased tires through the rebates, and give everyone a chance to win through the Camaro Giveaway. No purchase was necessary for the drawing - it worked out as a great way to build awareness for Hankook and expose our brand to a larger audience."
Hankook Tire purchased the car from Penske Chevrolet of Cerritos, Calif. after Jackson picked out the color she wanted, part of the well known Penske Group. To outfit the Camaro, Hankook provided a new set of its Ventus V12 evo tires, offering the ultimate driving experience for Jackson.
I thought that was cute, and even though I had to strain my eyes to see the photos clearly, it's extremely apparent that she appreciated it greatly. It's always great to see big companies like Hankook Tire give back to those who need a new car. Now I just hope that Deborah doesn't let anyone borrow her new vehicle, cause if she does, it may be a contender for wreckedexotics.com, even though a Camaro isn't an exotic vehicle. I guess Deborah rolled off the lot, blasting "My Camaro" by Young Jeezy...
Yes, They Have BOXES in Brooklyn Too.
Aug 23, 2010
I purposely interviewed the owner of this BOX to prove to the fact that owning a BOX isn't just a Southern thing. They do have them in New York, but they're not common. BOXES in New York are like a '95 Honda Civic is in Miami. But check out the photos to this 87' Chevy Caprice
Here's the interview...
The moral of this story is that BOXES aren't limited to just the Southern region of the United States...
BOXES are in capitals cause I received an email from a sensitive viewer...
Jimmy's Mitsubishi Eclipse
Aug 19, 2010
I've gotten some interesting commentary about this car through my YouTube channel and it's about time that I concoct this post.
First of all, I've seen the photos on a messageboard the day before I went to NOPI. At the 2010 NOPI in Atlanta, I saw this car that didn't look like an ordinary Mitsubishi Eclipse. In case if you're fuzzy on what ordinary one would look like...
(Thanks, Consumer Guide Automotive)
Jimmy decided to take his Mitsubishi Eclipse and did something just a little tiny bit different...
He put the car on a truck frame and suspension which allows the vehicle (it's not even a car anymore) to sit on 28 inch wheels and tires. Yes, this is real.
He kept the interior somewhat factory.
Listen to what Jimmy has to say.
Jimmy wasn't lying when he said "There is not anything you can't build if you set your mind to it! If you dream it, he can build it...". But I will say that now I've seen everything.

Birdman's (Baby) Got A New Toy
Aug 18, 2010
These cheap camera phone photos kill me. Derick G should have taken the photos.
No stranger to exotic cars, Bryan "Birdman" Williams has a new Baby, a fire-engine red Bugatti Veyron. Now of course around the web, people can't get the MSRP down correctly and there's figures being tossed around of the total being $2.1 million to $2.6 million.
Judging by the photos and the price, Baby purchased the Bugatti Veyron Super Sport ($2.5 million), which is more expensive than the standard one- which is priced at $1.7 million. After meeting Baby several times (he's a sweet person, by the way, at least to me), I'm positive that he went for the faster, more expensive one. Who am I to judge? It's his money, and he's one of the few who can afford it. Investing in oil can change your money in a heartbeat.
Anyway, let's talk about the Bugatti Veyron Super Sport, shall we?
Had to borrow from luxurylaunches.com, and that's where the remaining of the photos come from.
The Super Sport version is the fastest production car in the world, with an average top speed of 268 mph, with 8.0 litre W16, 64v DOHC quad-turbocharged petrol engine and over 1,000 horsepower.
It can go from 0–62.1 mph in 2.5 seconds, 0–99.4 mph in 4.5 seconds, 0–149.1 mph in 9.8 seconds, 0–186.4 mph in 16.7 seconds, and 0–248.5 mph in 50 seconds. Talk about fast...
If you own this car, you do not need to worry about what the MPG is. In fact, you probably have your own personal gas station on the grounds of your estate. But if you really want to know, if you run it over the 150 mph mark, you'll only get 3.6 mpg...
This is one heavy car. It weighs about 4,500 lb.
Overall length is 175.7 in, width is 78.7 in and height 47.4 in. The car's wheelbase is 106.7 in.
This isn't your typical car because it has a grand total of 10 radiators:
4 radiators for the engine cooling system, 1 heat exchanger for the air-to-liquid intercoolers, 2 for the air conditioning system, 1 transmission oil radiator, 1 differential oil radiator, and 1 engine oil radiator.
The Veyron can be driven in either semi- or fully-automatic mode. A replacement transmission for the Veyron costs just over $120,000 (which is a used Bentley Continental GT).
It uses special Michelin PAX run flat tyres, designed specifically to accommodate the Veyron's top speed, which reportedly cost $25,000 (A Brand New Dodge Charger) per set.
Now, here's the most interesting part about this Veyron. To paraphrase from wikipedia,
"The car's everyday top speed is listed at 220 mph. When the car reaches 140 mph, hydraulics lower the car until it has a ground clearance of about 3.5 in. At the same time, the wing and spoiler deploy. This is the "handling mode", in which the wing helps provide 3,425 newtons of downforce, holding the car to the road. The driver must, using a special key (the "Top Speed Key"), toggle the lock to the left of his seat in order to attain the maximum (average) speed. The key functions only when the vehicle is at a stop, when a checklist then establishes whether the car and its driver are ready to enable 'top speed' mode. If all systems are go, the rear spoiler retracts, the front air diffusers shut and the ground clearance, normally 4.9 in, drops to 2.6 in."
That sounds like something straight out of Top Gun and I'm sure that's what swayed Baby to make the purchase. That and Lil' Wayne owns a silver one. Anyway, let's watch the video that Derick G shot:
P.S. This car makes my dream Bentley Continental Supersports Convertible look like a pinto. And I need to travel to Miami to get some REAL photos of Baby and his Bugatti cause the photos I saw are not it.

One thing about New Yorkers and customizing cars, is that they'll do a conversion on a car in a heartbeat.
Listen to what he had to say.
And yes, he did say 19 TVs...
