Perfect Factory Integration Technology (F.I.T.) kits complement the INE-Z928HD’s 8-inch screen, for a seamless factory look in the dash.
“We know that new cars are coming with larger screens, which are popular not just for the size, but also because they offer great performance for features like navigation and rear-view cameras,” said Steve Crawford, vice president and general manager, aftermarket business unit, Alpine Electronics of America, Inc. “Our INE-Z928HD and Perfect F.I.T. dash kit program is an industry game changer, since it’s the first aftermarket 8-inch platform with integrated installation solutions. We are filling the need for a large-screen format for aftermarket consumers, which then creates sales opportunities for our 12 volt retail specialists.”
Key Entertainment and Information Features of the INE-Z928HD The INE-Z928HD is loaded with entertainment and information features, including: · Audio sources -- HD Radio™, through the built-in HD Radio tuner; Pandora® internet radio, with control from Android™, BlackBerry™ and iPhone® smartphones; SiriusXM satellite radio, using the SXV200 Vehicle Connect Tuner (separate tuner and XM subscription required); iPod® and iPhone music. · Navigation -- Free lifetime traffic service; 3D view which depicts major landmarks, buildings, and terrain details in main metropolitan areas in 3D; and Smart Zoom, which zooms-in as the next driving maneuver is approached, automatically displaying a close-up view of the maneuver location. · Bluetooth® Wireless Technology -- BT Plus advanced Bluetooth® wireless technology which includes secure simple pairing (SSP), icons for phone battery and cellular signal level; and a digital sound processor (DSP) for a better audio streaming experience. · “My Favorites” Screen -- The “My Favorites” screen lets users add, delete, and re-arrange up to eight shortcut keys for their most-used audio, phone and navigation commands. Perfect F.I.T. Dash Kits
Perfect F.I.T. dash kits provide a factory-finish look for the installation of the INE-Z928HD. 10 steps to tuning your car audio bass by Monster Customs
Jul 3, 2012
Monster Customs released an article about how to tune your bass in your car. Of course, with the advancements of technology, you would think folks don't need this. However, you don't want to be the person who blasts music that you can't hear words to because you forgot or didn't know how to tune your bass. So I am posting this helpful article to save you the embarrassment... you're welcome.
"Before you get started, Get out a few of your favorite CD's. Something with good mix and some low thump content. Dial back on the sub amp gain so there is very little sub in the mix. Turn off any bass boost features in the amp for now. May need a little later, but for now, no bass boost for now.
1. Set the EQ functions on HU to "0" or "flat" (no cuts, no boost)
2. Pop in the CD/tape/MP3 and select your favorite cut(s) and repeat.
3. Turn up the HU volume knob until you hear some distortions from the interior stage speakers.
4. Back off on the volume until distortions are gone. Is best to get out of the car and listen with doors open from a few feet away. If you still hear a rough sound, back off on the volume a bit more.
5. Now, time to add the sub into the mix. If amp has a low Pass filter, set it in a range between 70-120 Hz. No bass boost just yet. If you have continously variable LPF, determine what sounds best in your ears, within the range noted.
6. Bring up the gain on the sub amp, until you get it thumping and hear a "little" distortion.
7. Back off on the sub gain (a wee bit) until it sound full, deep and clean.
8. If bass seems a bit lacking of punch or deep lows, a small amount of Bass Boost, can be added. (+3 to +6dB is all you should ever need here)
9. Again, if you hear the sub getting rough from distortion, back off on the gain a bit more.
10. Now, you may use the Bass Tone control on the HU to adjust your bass from the driver's seat. This works well in simple HU's. But if you have a menu driven EQ system, this is a bit more cumbersome.
That's about it and now time for a test drive to ensure you have the system well balanced and in control. However, if you still have poor bass performance or weak bass output. May try reverse the wires to the sub and see if that improves the overall affect. If it gets better, you're good to go. If it seems worse, return the sub wires to original orientation.
Finally, if you have done all these steps correctly, and the bass is still not getting much bump or louder, and your gains are maxed out, you may have to go back to the LOC's and adjust them, in conjunction with the sub amp gains."
But if you listen to mixtapes from record labels like Get Money Records, Smoke Weed Entertainment, Twerk It Music Group, etc, then this article doesn't pertain to you.

Best-in-Class KICKER ZXS-Series Subwoofer Amplifiers Smaller Than Ever
Feb 10, 2012
With all the characteristics of reliable, powerful ZX-Series Amplifiers, the new KICKER ZXS-Series Amplifiers continue to provide trouble-free amplification and loud, clear sound, and now from a significantly smaller heat sink than its ZX counterparts. Two models of ZXS monoblock amps are available, both under 14 inches long and easy to handle during installation. And they can still be personalized with colorful vinyl skins.
ZXS1000.1 Amplifier
The ZXS1500.1 and ZXS1000.1 Mono-Channel Subwoofer Amplifiers give the user a couple of manageable power choices for supplying bass needs. Offering 1,500 and 1,000 watts respectively (listed ratings 2 Ohm at 14.4V), KICKER makes selections available for what it does best… bass. Hiding under a small, efficient chassis, ZXS.1 Amps offer a 24dB/octave low-pass electronic crossover and a 24dB/octave, high-pass subsonic filter fixed at 25 hertz. They feature up to +18dB of boost centered at 40 hertz, and both include the KICKER ZXRC remote bass control for that extra bit of bass boost at the driver’s fingertips.
ZXS monoblock amps use a boost converter power supply for the highest sound quality and super efficiency. Boost converter technology allows ZXS monoblock amps to achieve a typical efficiency of nearly 90 percent, better than Class D and way more than Class A/B power, for cooler running and optimum reliability. It also requires fewer internal parts, which allows ZXS amplifiers to be nearly 30 percent smaller than its ZX-amp counterparts.
ZXS1200.1 Amplifier
KICKER amplifiers feature FIT™, or Fail-Safe Integration Technology for the quietest operation possible. Alternators, computers and audio/video entertainment result in additional noise pulsing through today’s vehicles. FIT utilizes isolated differential inputs, rejecting noise andelectrical interference for ultimate audio clarity. FIT comes standard on ZXS and ZX Amplifiers.
Optional endcaps are available for all ZXS and ZX amplifier models. Amp chassis skins for personalizing any install can be ordered at www.kicker.com.
While KICKER amps are always covered by a two-year factory warranty, KICKER will provide an additional one-year extended warranty with the purchase of any KICKER installation kit at the time of the amplifier purchase. JL Audio W6v3 Subwoofer Drivers: The Sound Quality Gods are Smiling
Jan 13, 2012
For 2012, JL Audio is introducing the W6v3's with a slew of advances, representing two years of intense effort from the company's engineering department. These upgrades generate very noticeable performance increases in the form of greater output, sharper dynamics and improved overall sound quality.
The hearts of the W6v3's are their motor systems, featuring larger field plates and magnet assemblies than those used on v2's. StealthMod™ Bridging the gap between a basic subwoofer addition and a full, custom system solution
JL Audio is hitting CES HARD!!! One of many, many of the items they are unveiling happens to be called StealthMod. StealthMod bridges the gap between a basic subwoofer addition and a full, custom system solution. According to JL Audio,
A StealthMod™ is a complete, JL Audio-engineered upgrade package that builds on a Stealthbox® installation with well thought-out amplification and/or speaker system modifications.
The goal is to provide maximum performance value with minimal modification to the vehicle and little visual evidence of its installation. By taking the guesswork out of the system design, equipment selection and installation, JL Audio can offer customers a high-quality, reliable audio upgrade at a very reasonable price.
Every aspect of the installation has been thoroughly researched and tested: from the interface with the factory head unit, to the power wiring and the speaker installation. In addition to detailed instructions, the installer will find all the necessary brackets, wiring products, fasteners and adaptors to complete the installation. This significantly cuts down installation time, compared to a custom system approach.
The end result is an audio upgrade that completely blows away the factory audio system, not only with improved sub-bass, but with better performance across-the-board.
StealthMod™ includes:
Stealthbox® subwoofer system
Component speaker upgrades
System amplifier with remote level control
Wiring (power, speaker and signal)
Brackets, adaptors and hardware
Detailed installation and setup instructions
StealthMod™ systems for the following cars are shipping now:

JL Audio prepping for CES...
Jan 9, 2012
This week is a busy week. In seven days, there's three major events: the start of NAIAS (North American International Auto Show) in Detroit, Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas, and Tokyo Auto Salon in Tokyo, Japan.
CES starts January 10th and those who have anything to do with electronics will be at this show. Pertaining to cars, companies who specialize in audio, navigational systems, alarms, TV monitors, etc show off their new products to potential buyers.
One company that sells great audio products for vehicles, is JL Audio, and as we speak, they're putting together last minutes touches for the show tomorrow. Check out some of the sneak peeks...
One of the demo vehicles in JL Audio's spacious area.
Prepping the Camaro SS for the festivities.
The Fathom IWS in-wall subwoofer system.
Covering the ultra thin subwoofers.
Another demo vehicle... a CanAm Spyder with the JL Audio SlamPak system.
I wonder what else JL Audio has up their sleeve. We'll soon find out.

CarTunes Shows off a Maserati Gran Turismo
Dec 16, 2011
CarTunes of Atlanta had the pleasure to work on a Maserati Gran Turismo. According the shop,
"Maserati’s have always been known for style, prestige, and class. For such a classy car, they really come with horrible factory sound systems. So we fixed that with a custom built JL Audio Subwoofer, Focal Speakers, JL Amplifiers, and a Kenwood touch screen navigation system to liven up the cabin and give this car bold audio quality it deserved.
We also fitted it with our Cartunes License to Speed package with the Blinder M27x and Escort 9500Ci Radar and Laser Diffusion products. But where’s the display? Look at the rear view mirror…….Ta-da!"
This Maserati looks great, but having one subwoofer in the trunk threw me off a bit.

Cartunes of Atlanta Presents: iPod and Bluetooth by mObridge
Nov 29, 2011
The guys at CarTunes of Atlanta always take time out of their busy days to offer advice about new technology that they manage to get their hands on. This time around, they're educating you about the iPod and Bluetooth by mObridge. This is what they had to say:
Ever catch yourself wishing that you didn’t have to listen to those same CD’s in your CD changer, or wish you could keep both hands on the wheel while making a phone call.
Now you can, with the mObridge iPod and Bluetooth Interface. This allows you to listen and control your iPod as well as send and receive phone calls all through your factory system. Several new BMW, Mercedes, Land Rover, Porsche, and Audi vehicles have complicated audio systems using fiber optic technology. The mObridge unit seemlessly interfaces with all these complicated electronics allowing for a clean integration of your iPod and Bluetooth Handsfree phone. It even allows Bluetooth streaming audio for you Pandora listeners out there.

Seven Steps to Improve an Aston Martin DB9's Sound System by CarTunes of Atlanta
Nov 15, 2011
The hardworking guys of CarTunes of Atlanta released a helpful rundown of improving an Aston Martin DB9's sound system. Granted most of us probably will not own a DB9 (personally I would go for the Rapide over the DB9), it's great to know because you could recreate the list of materials to be used in your own vehicle, or CarTunes could do the same thing to an Envoy *smiles*.
How to improve the sound system in an Aston Martin DB9 in 7 steps
Step One: New Center, Front, and Rear Focal K2 Power Components
Step Two: Alpine Thin Type R
Step Three: Alpine PDX Amplifiers
Step Four: High Resolution Technology iPod D/A Converter
Step Five: Custom iPod Docking Station
Step Six: THE Audison Bit One
Step Seven: Put it all together and enjoy!
(Someone likes Ludacris... But to check out sound systems, I always use a specific track- Swizz Beatz' Ghetto Stories from his first album. Sounds weird but the way Swizzy produced the song, sound systems in cars pick it up differently and you can tell in a heartbeat if your system isn't right with that one particular song, where most songs doesn't pick it up. I can't stand riding around a car with a messed up sound system. I'm also an artist, which explains why my idiosyncrasies are the way they are, and I'm very much okay with that.)
