Bernie's Favorite: Jennifer Lopez's Fiat Commercial

This commercial has graced the small screen for awhile and I'm aware that I'm a little late. Better late than never. Like Sex and the City, this commercial brings a tear to my heart and it cures my being homesick. Entitled "My World" the commercial shows Jennifer Lopez pushing (aka driving) the Fiat 500 through the streets of the Castle Hill section of the Bronx. Castle Hill is east of Parkchester, one of the sections of the Bronx where I spent time as a little girl. "The new ad explores her personal take on how life in the New York City borough continues to inspire her to be tougher, to stay sharper and to think faster," said Chrysler in a statement. Chrysler is smart enough to know that's the essence of a New York State of Mind.

"The commercial tells the story of how the simple elements of our upbringing can help explain who we are, where we're going and serve as a source of inspiration to achieve our goals in life," said Olivier Francois, Fiat-Chrysler's chief marketing officer, in a statement. And according to Edmonds.com, those who would consider buying a Fiat has increased 31%.



"They may be just streets to you, but to me, they are a playground," says Jennifer. Jennifer, you better WERK!!! (I've been living in Atlanta way too long). As sentimental as the commercial is to me, I still wouldn't consider buying a Fiat.

Commercial: West Coast Customs' Continental Tire Commercial

One of the stipulations of having a sponsor is that you have to promote them as often as possible. Fortunately West Coast Customs has a great sponsor in Continental Tires. I'm sure in every car magazine- From Car and Driver, to Rides Magazine, to my personal favorite: Heavy Hitters Magazine, you seen the Continental Tire ad with Ryan Friedlinghaus somewhere in the magazine. Well they decided to take it to the small screen and created a commercial where you get to see Friedlinghaus as well as some of the car customizations that West Coast Customs is famous for.



"Here at West Coast Customs, we build a lot of rides," said Friedlinghaus in the commercial while the camera pans to some of the shop's most extreme rides. "But no matter what the style, we wrap everything in Continental tires." Continental Tire has been the "Official Tire" of West Coast Customs since 2007.

Since Chrysler asked Eminem to appear in a commercial, they also decided to use the one who introduced Eminem to the world...



Dr Dre and the new Chrysler 300 are alike more than you know. Chrysler waited too long to release the newer model of this car, and Dr Dre waited too long to release Detox.

Cute Award-Winning Commerical by Kia Soul

Kia has won the top honor in the Nielsen Automotive Ad of the Year awards for the second year in a row. Their second commercial featuring dancing hamsters with performing Black Sheep's "This Or That". According to Kia, the hamster spots have helped increase Soul sales in a big way. The boxy compact saw its sales figures increase by 50.8 percent last month compared to March 2010. Kia used this particular song "to compare "This," the funky and uniquely styled Soul, to "That," a number of boring and mundane appliances on wheels, cardboard boxes or hamster wheels."

The spot debuted on cable at the end of May 2010 as an extension of the first Soul spot to feature the hamsters in "A New Way to Roll," which depicted boring city and suburban streets inhabited exclusively by hamsters who are mindlessly running in place in their exercise wheels until a molten red Kia Soul pulls up to a stoplight and the passenger window rolls down to reveal a trio of paw-tapping, music-loving hamsters who have in fact found "A New Way to Roll."



Hamsterdam Ave... instead of Amsterdam Ave, H&H instead of H&M. I thought it was cute and well thought out, even though they used a faux Harlem setup. Cuteness does sell...

The new model Ford Explorer looks good!!! Well, not as good as Nelly, but that's a different story. I hope the Expedition will look like that as well, if it does, I'll have to keep it on my radar.
