All About Audi: DJ Bobby Trends

The third installment of All About Audi has hit the web, and this time it's DJ Bobby Trends from Hot 97 pushing an 2012 Audi A8 through the streets of Manhattan and Queens. Check out the video and I'll give my usual opinion.



I found the press release for the All About Audi mini-series and it's designed for everyday folks to get a behind-the-scenes look into the lives of your favorite hip-hop personalities while they drive a new Audi. But a mini-series like this is suppose to sell the car AND give a behind the scenes look into entertainer's lives.

I liked the Jim Jones one, I hated the Maino one, but the Bobby Trends test drive was a bit better than Jimmy's. Jimmy didn't really test the features of the cars, Maino played with it a little, but Bobby truly tested it out. He played with the voice navigational system which led him to a sneaker shop on Steinway Street in Astoria, Queens. (Side note: Astoria, Queens has the largest population of Greeks outside of Greece. Opa!) I feel that this installment of All About Audi sold the Audi A8 more than the previous episodes combined. Plus it helped that Bobby was a personable driver and he interacted with the camera more. Of course, the slow reading of the "narrator" and sound quality irked me. I'm sure you're wondering what do I know about film. I do know some things, enough to earn a Bachelor's Degree in Film and Television.

At the end of the day, All About Audi is designed to sell some Audis, but shouldn't they have aimed a little lower on the cars that were driven? Not everyone can afford an $85,000 car ESPECIALLY in New York. Hell, not everyone can afford the insurance to an $85,000 car in New York. In fact: A quote through Geico with my driving record with this car, living in Brooklyn, I would be looking at $6,348.90... every 6 months or $12,697.80 a year and for that price, I could buy a Toyota Corolla.

And I just realized that Bobby Trends was on Hot 97 when I lived in New York. Oops...

P.S. If you do have the opportunity to go to New York, check out Astoria. It's literally a bunch of nationalities jammed up in one town. From one stationary store, you can buy a Irish newspaper, Greek newspaper, a Chinese newspaper, and the New York Times.
