The New 2011 Chrysler 300...

Jan 5, 2011

... and there's something about it that I don't like.

Let me show some photos and show the improvements that were made before I get into my opinion.

According to Automoblog.net (hi guys!!!)

Exterior changes include a revised body, new LED daytime running strips below the headlights, slightly modified tail lights, and a front grill with horizontal slotting (as opposed to the current mesh-look grill.) Chrysler has taken steps to increase the 300's outward visibility by making thinner roof pillars and extending the windshield's rake by three inches. The headlights feature bi-functional projector lamps and LED daytime running lamps. A dual-pane panoramic sunroof offers two times more the outward visibility of an average sunroof. The new 300 has optional 20-inch polished-aluminum wheels.

The 300's current 2.7- and 3.5-liter engines will be replaced with Chrysler's Pentastar V6 engine producing 292 horsepower and 260 lb·ft of torque. The 5.7-liter HEMI V8 engine will remain available.

The 2011 model is offered in Touring, Limited, 300C, and 300C AWD configurations. Touring and Limited trims will come with the Pentastar V6 while the 300C line will offer the 5.7. An SRT-8 is possible down the road.

What I don't like about it is that grill. A design of a grill will not look good on every single vehicle. There isn't a universal grill design, thank goodness. I do like those LED light strips. I thought those were cute, ever since I first saw them on Audis.

As far as the interior goes, I do like the upgraded look to it. My being the blacked-out person that I am, naturally, I adored the black interior, but once I observed the same interior in tan then... See for yourself.

I do doubt that the 2011 Chrysler 300 will have the same buzz that the 2006 Chrysler 300 had. I wish I was going to the NAIAS (North American International Auto Show) this year to see it. But I wait a few months for the New York Auto Show and see it there. They may show it at the AJC Auto Show, but some auto makers have bowed out of the Atlanta Auto Show.

That grill.... yuck... But the photos are hot.
