Camp Jeep Experience at the 2016 New York Auto Show

For decades, Jeeps have been synonymous with off-road capabilities. However, it’s kind of hard to demonstrate off-roading at an auto show….



…Until Jeep came up with Camp Jeep.



Camp Jeep is the ultimate off-road driving test. The 20,000 square foot space gives auto show attendees a chance to experience the extreme off-road capabilities of Jeep vehicles without leaving the auto show. At this year’s New York Auto Show, Camp Jeep made its 12 appearance.



Over 15 trailers of freight and organic landscape materials are used to create the Camp Jeep track. The course is comprised of several obstacles that stimulate some of the rigorous testing that Jeep vehicles endure before consumers get behind the wheel. This provides them with a first hand look at the capability standards of Jeep vehicles for Ground Clearance (5+ foot staircase), Traction (18-foot high, 35 degree mountain), Stability, Articulation (30 degree wedge), Breakover (25 degree uneven plane until one wheel loses contact with the surface), Off-Camber, and Suspension.

Since 2004, over 275,000 NYIAS attendees have experienced Camp Jeep and more than 1.6 million guests have experienced Camp Jeep across 100 events in the United States. Definitely check out the Camp Jeep experience, you will not regret it.

Bernie's Car Show Coverage: Caffeine and Octane: Jan 2016

January 3rd was the first Caffeine and Octane of 2016. After an unseasonably warm December, this particular morning was a bit cold, but temperature didn't slow down the crowd at all. Held at Atlanta's Perimeter Mall, this is Atlanta most dependable car show.

Whether if you adore staring at a Bentley Continental GTC or you want to enjoy a classic Plymouth Surburban, Caffeine and Octane is literally an early morning, outdoor automotive museum.

Bernie's Car Show Coverage: Butler Tire Vossen Wheels Final Meetup of 2015

First of all, Happy New Year everyone!!!! On December 27th, 2015, Butler Tire teamed up with Vossen Wheels and hosted their last meet up of 2015. Held at the Andretti Gokarttng in Marietta, GA, a mixture of luxury, import, and sports cars showed up to this event.

A lot of gorgeous vehicles did show up, like the Porsche 911 Carrera S and Mercedes Benz S550 Coupe above, as well as some Ford Mustangs, BMW M3s, Nissan GTR, Chevy Camaros, and some slammed vehicles. Bernie's Car Show Coverage: 2015 SEMA Show

November 3-6 2015 was the 49th annual SEMA Show. Held at the Las Vegas Convention Center, the Speciality Equipment Marketing Association Show has one purpose- to bring those who are in the automotive industry together to see the latest products in the industry as well as to see a lot of blood, sweat, and tears in the customization of vehicles. It's a great opportunity for networking and to see how cars are customized all over the world.

I'm greatful for the opportunity of attending this show. Although it was my sixth show, I'm still considered a "newbie". Believe me, there's guys that have attended SEMA for the past couple of decades. Even Chip Foose has proclaimed that he attended his first SEMA show back in 1984 (ironically the year I was born).

It took me awhile to put this post together, because I wanted to post updates via social media and then I can show them all off within this post. If you were able to follow me through social media (@CarShowBernie on Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook), I posted as often as I could while still being in the moment.

Bernie's Car Show Coverage: 2015 Torres Empire Lowrider Show

On August 23rd, 2015, I attended my second Torres Empire Lowrider Supershow. Held at the Los Angeles Convention Center, this car show is the largest indoor Lowrider show in the entire world- which means I didn't want to miss it. When I checked out the Torres Empire website a few weeks ago, every aspect of the show was sold out- cars, bikes, motorcycles, the outdoor car hop, so I knew I was in for a great time.

The number one reason why I have a facination with lowriders is the attention to detail in the customization process. No matter how hard you try, you can't rush anything- especially the pinstriping and the engraving.

I was overwhelmed with all of the vehicles that participated with the show. It wasn't just based on quantity, but the quality of them. Not limited to just cars, this particular show also highlighted motorcycles and bikes, which is still a part of the Lowrider family. I didn't just photograph lowriders at the Torres Empire show, I emerged myself into Los Angeles culture.
