Feb 1, 2013

Okay, before I brought you the least expensive cars to insure, but now I have the most expensive cars to insure for this year. Remember, it's based on the averages of the premiums from the Big 6 (Allstate, Farmers, GEICO, Nationwide, Progressive, and State Farm), if you're a single 40 year old male with a clean driving record, good credit, and commutes 12 miles to work every day.

10. Porsche 911 Turbo S with a premium of $2925. MSRP $160,700 MPG 15/23 5.5L V8 w/ 536 horsepower

9. Porsche 911 Turbo with a premium of $2958. MSRP $137,500 MPG 16/24 3.8L V6 w/ 500 horsepower

8. Mercedes-Benz S63 AMG with a premium of $2978 MSRP $140,000 MPG 15/23 5.5L V8 w/ 536 horsepower

2. Mercedes-Benz CL65 AMG with a premium of $3330. MSRP $213,200 MPG 12/19 6.0L V12 w/621 horsepower

1. Mercedes-Benz CL600 with a premium of $3557 (but with my driving record, it'll probably be about $4500) MSRP $160,300 MPG 12/18 5.5L V12 w/ 510 horsepower

Mercedes Benz... really??? They owned this top 10 list. But that CL class... it's worth every penny.

Ultimate Auto Shows off a Widebody Range Rover Evoque

And I think this is the first of it's kind. Orlando's own, Ultimate Auto released photos of a Range Rover Evoque. As we all know, the Evoque just came out, and they're slowly showing up on the road more and more. According to UA, this Evoque features a Hammann body kit, Vesuvius Orange paint, 22 inch Lexani Wheels, and lowering springs to help fill out the wheel well...

10 Cheapest Cars to Insure in 2013

With the new year, also comes lists like this. Forbes released their annual list of the 10 Cheapest Cars to Insure for 2013. Thanks to Quadrant Information Services, they were able to compare premiums for over 750 car and truck models from the top 6 insurance carriers (Farmers, GEICO, Nationwide, Progressive, State Farm, and my BFFs over at Allstate). The averages are based if you are a single, 40 year old male with a clean driving record and good credit who commutes 12 miles to work each day. And seeing how I'm a 20-something year old female with a not so good driving record (my right foot tends to be a little heavy), I do have good credit, and I commute a little more than 12 miles to work. C'est la vie..... but here we go.

At number 10 with a premium of $1204 a year, is a Hyundai Tuscon GL. MSRP $20,000. MPG: 22/29. 2.0L w/ 165 horsepower.

9. Ford Explorer with a premium of $1197. MSRP $29,000. MPG: 17/24. 3.5L V6 w/ 290 horsepower.

8. Hyundai Tuscon GLS with a premium of $1189. MSRP $22,750. MPG: 21/30. 2.4L w/ 176 horsepower.

7. Subaru Outback 3.6R with a premium of $1180. MSRP $27,000. MPG: 18/25. 3.6L V6 w/ 256 horsepower.

6. Chevrolet Express 1500 with a premium of $1171. MSRP $27,000. MPG: 15/20. 4.3L V6 w/ 195 horsepower.

5. Jeep Patriot Sport with a premium of $1160. MSRP $17,000. MPG: 22/28. 2.4L w/ 172 horsepower.

4. Kia Sportage with a premium of $1157. MSRP $21,200. MPG: 21/30. 2.4L w/ 176 horsepower.

3. Subaru Outback 2.5i Premium with a premium of $1150. MSRP $24,500. MPG: 24/30. 2.5L w/173 horsepower.

2. Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo with a premium of $1148. MSRP $28,000. MPG: 17/23. 3.6L V6 w/ 290 horsepower.

The remix post will be coming soon... 10 most expensive cars to insure for 2013.

2013 Dub Car Show Schedule is officially out...

Jan 30, 2013

... but you and I both know that it's not set in stone.

January 19-27th: Philadelphia, PA (inside of Philly's Auto Show)  Already passed. Lo siento.

April 5th-7th: Greatest City Ever. Sorry, I'm a little biased, but New York, NY (inside of NYIAS)

April 7th: Los Angeles, CA (hope there's no shootouts)

April 27th: Memphis, TN (Will definitely bring a large crowd)

May 19th: Miami, FL

June 1st: Charlotte, NC

June 16th: Deep in the heart of Dallas, TX (That'll be a good one)

June 22nd: Chicago, IL (That'll be a good one)

July 27th: Atlanta, GA (*side eye*)

August 11th: Anaheim, CA

October 13th: Phoenix, AZ

And of the best stop of all...

November 5-8th: Las Vegas, Nevada at SEMA.

Based off of last years photos, cause you know I looked at all of the photos. Vegas will be the best one for obvious reasons. Anaheim is an extremely close second, but I see it's later in the year (probably have to work around the Angels' schedule. Not like the Angels are going to do well anyway. Go Yankees.) Dallas, Chicago, Phoenix, and Los Angeles are tied for third. Charlotte is a crap shoot- Could be good, could be bad. Atlanta and Memphis will make money because people really just want to see the concert. Miami will be good if it's outside- since Florida boys have their their own time schedule. They'll get there when they feel like it. The Philly and New York will suck because they're inside of an auto show- which means it'll only be a small section.

And why did Dub get rid of the Englishtown, NJ tour stop??? I had fun at that one... I just realized something... what happened to Houston?

P.S. After seeing this, I'm not sure which ones I'll attend.

West Coast Customs Shows off an Audi R8

Jan 29, 2013

Customization giants, West Coast Customs, released photos of one of their newest completed projects- an almost blacked out Audi R8. Although I'm a sucker for a completely blackout vehicle, this still looks great. Check this out...

I'm trying to remember if I ever seen a completely blacked out Audi R8. No matter how hard West Coast Customs tries with Audi R8, they'll never beat the Tron Audi that they've done a couple of years ago.
