Bernie's Car Show Coverage: Caffeine and Octane: July 2017

On a hot 4th of July weekend, Caffeine and Octane held their seventh extravaganza of 2017. Held at the Perimeter Mall outside of Atlanta in Dunwoody, Georgia, Caffeine and Octane allows car enthusiasts from all over to bring their cars and to show them off.

Last month's extravaganza really proved how much Caffeine and Octane has grown, especially from the Alpharetta era. Despite the weather, it didn't stop the enthusiasts from bringing their prized possessions and it didn't stop the crowd from enjoying the cars... even in the rain. I'm holding this month's extravaganza with the same high regard as last month. In the past, attendance tends to taper off due to the holiday weekends (mostly Independence Day and Labor Day weekend) and people do go out of town. The past was clearly in the past and July's extravaganza was packed.

In one parking area, spectators had the opportunity to gaze, photograph, and chat about the widest array of cars. From a variety of army trucks- one of which was parked next to a Rolls Royce Ghost (talk about a random pairing), a chameleon inspired McLaren, a bloody Hummer, an Excursion that could literally provide enough music for the actual show, plenty of cars that were in stance mode, a Dodge Charger that was seasoned enough to be my Dodge Charger's grandfather, lowriders provided by the Individual Car Club celebrating their anniversary (more on their anniversary will be in the next post), a high amount of exotic and good ol' American muscle cars, and most importantly...

The Ford Super Duty truck that was so massive, you couldn't help but see it.

Bernie's Car Show Coverage: Photos from Caffeine and Exotics: June 2017

On June 18th, 2017, Caffeine and Exotics held their second show of the year. Held in the main parking lot of Atlanta’s Lenox Square Mall, Caffeine and Exotics is the younger sibling to Caffeine and Octane.

Caffeine and Exotics had plenty of high end vehicles for spectators to admire. From the Rolls Royce Ghost, twin Lamborghini Huracan Super Trofeos, to the Ferrari 488, Porsche GT4, and not one, but two 1936 Mercedes Benz, there was more to drool over.

"Rain or Shine, the show must go on."

On a gloomy Sunday, June 4th, 2017, Caffeine and Octane held their 6th show of the year. I think this month's show proved how much of a following Caffeine and Octane truly has. About an hour before the show officially started, storms moved through the Atlanta area. In the past, some car enthusiasts have hesitated on driving their prized possessions in such crappy weather. Apparently times have changed. Despite the rain, the widest range of vehicles still gathered in the parking lot of the Perimeter Mall outside of Atlanta. Spectators carried their umbrellas and wore rain jackets while checking out the new Mercedes AMG GTR (I'm a little spoiled since I sat in one at the New York Auto Show a few months ago), Nissan GTRs, Lamborghini Aventador SV, Hot Rods (including the one on truck tires and I'm not kidding.), a few classic Lincoln Continentals, and yes... there was a Ford Model A there as well.

Because of the rain, I arrived at the show (later than usual) around 8:30 and it started raining (again) at 10 am, which prompted me to leave. Bernie's Car Show Coverage: 2017 Soloarte Tattoo and Krazy Vatos Car Show

On May 23rd, 2017, Soloarte Tattoo Shop teamed up with the Krazy Vatos Car Club and held their 6th annual car show. I had a great time at the show last year and I knew I had to go back. Georgia isn't known for having lowriders, but this show provides a nice breath of fresh air-- until I can go to Los Angeles and Houston. My automotive heart has a special place for lowriders. I really started appreciating them at my first lowrider car show in Los Angeles- the Torres Empire Lowrider Show. The incredible amount of detail that it takes to customize one car is a photographer's dream.

Back to the show, I wasn't sure if the show was going to happen simply because of the weather. A few hours prior to the show, a storm rolled through the Atlanta area. Thankfully, the rained ended just before the show began and provided excellent weather for that afternoon's festivities.

One week after Caffeine and Exotics, Caffeine and Octane put on their fifth car show of 2017. Held at the Perimeter Mall in Dunwoody, Caffeine and Octane allows car enthusiasts from all over to bring their cars and to show them off. It doesn’t matter if you show up in a Alpina BMW, Ford Bronco, a '63 Rolls Royce with a jar of Grey Poupon on the dashboard, a lowered VW CC, a seasoned Chevy Camaro, or one of the many other vehicles that still allowed those that admire cars to appreciate them for the beauty that they are.
