New Improvements to the 2011 Cadillac Escalade
Apr 13, 2011
Even though the Cadillac Escalade isn't the top full size SUV anymore, it is still the most important Cadillac that's on the GM lineup. Well, to upgrade the luxury SUV, GM decided to add a number of minor improvements plus the new Cadillac Premium Care Maintenance Program. It covers scheduled oil changes, replacement of engine and cabin air filters, and multi-point inspections for four years or 50,000 miles. But you know everytime they say "for four years or 50,000 miles", the miles always come first. I can honestly do 50,000 miles in about a year and a half...
Anyway, back to the Escalade. Other improvements added to this gorgeous vehicle would be additional noise reduction via a laminated windshield and front side glass, modified front weather stripping, and slightly redesigned rear-view mirrors. GM also added more features to the navigation system and improved the standard OnStar technology’s voice-recognition software that now includes flexible speech recognition software that no longer needs to hear the exact command and is better capable of recognizing regional dialects. I need to try out that voice-recognition part of the navigational system, because you know my regional dialect is still a little heavy even though I've been living in GA for 8 years, and I still get stared at when I pronounce "coffee".
Additional extremely minor changes include the promotional colors for a limited time: Evolution Green Metallic (fancy name for Sea Green) and Blue Frost Metallic (Frosty Ice Blue) for the two SUVs, Mocha Steel (Brownish Gray mix) and Gold Mist Metallic (light champagne) for the EXT.
By now, we all know that the Cadillac Escalade is based off the Yukon Denali/Chevy Tahoe. Same platform, just more tchotchkes added in it. I just love the word tchotchkes. Still a very smooth driving, adorable SUV, but I'm still in love with the GMC Yukon Denali Hybrid.
P.S. Photos are from Consumer Guide Auto since they look soooo great...
