Bret Michaels selling Bentley Continental, Lincoln Navigator, and Ford Explorer at Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale Auction

Barrett-Jackson can be easily described as the world’s famous auto auction where they auction not just cars, but motorcycles, trucks, airplanes, and rock and roll memorabilia. Some celebrities have taken part by offering their prized possessions on four wheels. For instance- in 2008, Funkmaster Flex’s 2006 Ford Mustang GT was purchased for $300,000; in 2005, the famous aviator, Howard Hughes’ 1953 Buick Roadmaster was purchased for $1,500,000; and in 2007, the great Carroll Shelby’s 1966 Shelby Cobra 427 Super Snake was purchased for the low, low price of $5,000,000. So you see that money is spent at this auction- ESPECIALLY if a car that Funkmaster Flex owned sold for more than the depreciated value.

No stranger to the Barrett-Jackson auction, Rock-n-Roller, Reality Star, and Car Enthusiast Bret Michaels has returned to auction three cars. His first donation was a 1969 Chevy Camaro SS equipped with an autographed guitar was snatched up for $200,000. This time, Bret is auctioning three vehicles, a 2004 Bentley Continental GT, a 2004 Lincoln Navigator and a 2011 Ford Explorer. I haven’t really followed the Barrett-Jackson auction, however no matter how new/used the Lincoln Navigator and Ford Explorer are, those particular vehicles will stand out like a sore thumb at this auction. In fact, I’m sure it would be the lowest selling vehicles in the history of the auction. Even the 2004 Bentley Continental GT isn’t a huge deal- how many celebrities own one?

According to the Barrett-Jackson press release, his 2004 Bentley Continental GT
(Lot #705.4, VIN SCBCR63W24C021428). The stunning, Moonbeam Silver car features a 6.0 Liter twin turbo W12, GPS navigation and premium package. Michaels is also selling his 2004 Lincoln Navigator (Lot #705.5, VIN 5LMFU28R24LJ31439), a true Rock Star vehicle as featured on Michaels' hit VH1 show, "Rock of Love." The 5.4 Liter V8 features leather interior and a DVD player. Finally, Michaels will sell his 2011 Ford Explorer (Lot #705.6, VIN 1FMHK7F80BGA18572) featured on his hit TV show "Life as I Know it." The Explorer features a navigation system, luxury package and V6 engine.

I’m dying to know how much the Ford Explorer and Lincoln Navigator will auction off for. Maybe one of the “Rock of Love” girls buy it… I’m wondering if Barrett-Jackson is the reason why DMX moved to Scottsdale, AZ- the same city as Barrett-Jackson’s headquarters.

380,000 Legos is enough to build a Ford Explorer

Legoland Orlando is the proud owner of a lifesized Ford Explorer... made of 382,858 legos. According to Ford, the Ford Explorer Lego version was created by 22 designers and weighs 2,654 pounds. It is supported by a 768-pound interior aluminum base.

The Lego SUV will be set up in front of the Ford Driving School for children at the new theme park. Kids as young as three can attend, where they will learn "the difference between the accelerator and the brake — and move on to stoplights and stop signs," said Ford in a statement.

"Children then have the opportunity to drive in their own electric vehicles on curbed roads with maximum speed limits of 3 mph," said the automaker.

The common wisdom in the auto industry is that if you can win over a child, that child will aspire to own your products when he or she grows up. Porsche famously sent its ad agency into California kindergartens in the past to figure out what kids wanted to drive. Of course, they all drew pictures of red convertibles when given crayons and paper and asked to create their dream ride.

Commercial: Derek Jeter and Ford Presents...

Ford spent major dollars and signed this guy as eye candy for their commercials. The commercials always end up as adorable 45 seconds advertisements that almost make you forget what he's selling. I'm sure Red Sox fans are hating me right about now.








You know by not living in NY, I'm missing all of the great commercials. And for old times sake...

Recapping Episode Eight of Funkmaster Flex's Full Throttle (with The LOX and Maybach Music Group)

Last Sunday was the season finale of Season 2: Funkmaster Flex's Full Throttle. He decided to go out with a bang by having both Maybach Music Group (Rick Ross and 'em) and my personal favorite- The LOX (Jadakiss, Styles P, and Sheek).

So Flex and Rick Ross had a bet going on that had to do with basketball. Knicks vs Heat, and of course, the Miami Heat won. The Knicks just became a decent team, but to put them up against the Heat was just stupid. To each its own, however professional basketball isn't exactly New York's strongest point. Streetball- yes. Professional Basketball- we're getting there. Flex decided to give Ross a brand new white Ford Explorer with 24 inch custom wheels, Sony sound system, Custom Interior, Baer Breaks, and a new front bumper.

Like I mentioned before, I was excited when the LOX walked into the door. I loved them since I was a little girl living on Long Island. They didn't discuss any type of cars, but I enjoyed the interview, simply because it seemed more genuine. I can't really talk about the LOX segment, because cars wasn't discussed, they came to just chill with Flex. But who doesn't enjoy Styles, Sheek, and Jadakiss.

Finally the Maybach Music Group comes in, and they discuss music first. Ricky Rozay informs everyone that they are developing their own wheel company. Flex settles up on the bet and presents Rick Ross with the customized Ford Explorer. The finished product looked good, however, Rick Ross doesn't strike me as a Ford Explorer type of person. That's like giving Lil Wayne a Dodge Durango.

I've actually been lucky enough to hang out with Jadakiss several times, and he's an interesting person. From advice to storytelling- he has a way to make you want to stop and listen.

Honestly speaking, I expected more from this series. I didn't think that this show would have been the TV version of his Hot 97 radio show, but in a way, that's what it was. It was more about who he could get to be on the show as opposed to it being about cars especially with a title like Full Throttle.

P.S. If Jadakiss comes out with his own coffee, I'm supporting it.

The new model Ford Explorer looks good!!! Well, not as good as Nelly, but that's a different story. I hope the Expedition will look like that as well, if it does, I'll have to keep it on my radar.
