On June 7th, 2026, I made my annual return to the Atlanta Mot-- I mean Echo Park Speedway (I have to get use to the name change) for the 2026 Street Whipz King of the South Mega Show.
Because the Rick Ross Car Show moved their date to the following weekend (I chose not to go this year), I was actually able to make it to the block party which was held the day before the show. The block party was right outside of Atlanta in Riverdale and it was nothing short of amazing. A lot of people did come and by a lot, I mean it got to the point where they couldn't allow people to park closer to the action.
The next day was the show itself. Usually when there's a show that has a block party that's the day before, there's cars that do go to both events and there's cars that will go to one event and sit out the other, so this show basically followed the same principle. One thing I can always appreciate about this show is that I go year after year and there's still cars that come that I've never seen before. Sadly the rain did put a damper on things towards the end, but I have no reason to complain.
