On November 5th, I made my faithful return to the Las Vegas Convention Center to the 2024 SEMA Show, which was my 14th consecutive SEMA Show. (Let's be honest and say that virtual SEMA doesn't count).
When it comes to automotive events, the Speciality Equipment Marketing Association (SEMA) trade show stands out as my all-time favorite. Yes, I know it's technically a trade show, but for me, it's so much more than that. SEMA allows those in the automotive industry to see what's new and the latest trends as well as how the product enhances the look of a vehicle, network with companies, learn how to grow your business in various ways, and also hobnob with some celebrities in the automotive world. No matter how many times I go, I can always count on a full day of walking, the weather is often perfect, meeting and reconnecting with likeminded people and most importantly-- seeing gorgeous vehicles.
Also, the car of SEMA definitely went to the Tesla Cybertruck. Some companies kept it somewhat stock and just added a decal or two to the traditional stainless steel body. But others decided to step outside of the box and wrapped it in an assortment of different colors and patterns. Some added wheels, others left the original stock wheels. Toyo Tires was the reigning champion of SEMA's choice in tires. Still a lot of full size trucks on lifted suspension and plenty of lowered vehicles.
