On July 20th, 2024, I was able to cross a lot off of my bucket list. But since we're here to talk about shows, I traveled for the first time to the metro-Chicago area to attend my first Chitown Show and Go show/race.
And so I did. Held at the Great Lakes Dragway in Union Grove, Wisconsin (yes, I went to Wisconsin... culture shock), I showed up armed with my camera, phone, Yankees fitted and most importantly-- an open mind. I've seen very few of the cars that were a part of the show, but the majority of the show was new to me. One thing I can always appreciate about the Midwest is that yes they do have the cars that are popular within the big wheel car culture- you know- Impala, Caprices, Regals, Grand Nationals, Cutlass, Chevelles, Camaros, etc. But then you'll find cars that you don't normally see customized, well at least I normally don't see them, like the Pontiac Catalina, Chevy Nova, Oldsmobile 88/98, Buick Electra 225, Oldsmobile Delta 88, and more.
