Bernie's Favorite: CEC Wheels selling Tiffany Blue Bentley Continental GTC

Jan 24, 2013

If Holly Golightly was a real person, THIS would be her car. CEC Wheels released information about an extremely gorgeous Bentley Continental GTC. This isn't just any ol' Bentley Continental GTC. Let's run though this...

What we have here is a 2013 Bentley Continental GTC V8 Beverly Hills Limited Edition car. The new 4.0 liter twin turbocharged V8 engine profuces 500 horsepower at 60000 rpm and 487 lb ft of torque. Combine those specs with the new 8 speed automatic transmission and is capable of traveling over 500 miles on a single tank of gas.

This Bentley was customized exclusively for the Bentley of Beverly Hills. The paint is a Celeste Blue Pearlescent, similiar to the iconic Tiffany & Co Blue. The Tiffany Bentley is wearing 22 inch CEC c881 wheels in your choice of Liquid Silver or Matte Black (Bernie says go with Liquid Silver.) and wrapped in Continental Tire's ExtremeContact ultra high performance all-season tires.

I love this car, but if only it had a chrome grille instead of a black one.

If I was going to be in Beverly Hills on my birthday (aka this weekend), I would definitely go to CEC Wheels just to see this car. And photograph it. And test drive it. Also, this car shouldn't be in Beverly Hills.  It belongs in the city that has the flagship store of Tiffany's. If Tiffany & Co. was gangsta enough, they would buy it and use it for events. Yes I did use Tiffany's and gangsta in the same sentence.

CEC Wheels talks the Mercedes G63 AMG

Oct 5, 2012

Beverly Hills staple, CEC Wheels had the opportunity to customize the newly redesigned Mercedes Benz G63 AMG. One of their clients wanted to add a special touch to it and that when CEC steps in.

According to CEC, "In true CEC fashion, less is more, and when blacking out the new 2013 G63 AMG, less really means more. This particular client didn't want to black out everything, he opted to leave the taillights, rear reflectors, and side reflectors untouched. The spare tire rack was blacked out, along with all the emblems, trim around the entire vehicle and side pipes".  And if I do say so myself, it looks great!!!!

Oldie But Goodie: CEC Wheels Shows off a Stealth C63

Sep 24, 2012

One thing that CEC Wheels has mastered is the art of stealth. Last year, CEC released a video showing off the subtle customizations done to the ever-so-gorgeous Mercedes Benz C63. Personally I love the quilted stitching in the interior- it looks soooo comfortable. Although the man at the end of the video looked like he was about to shed a tear since the car was being transported away from CEC, check the video out anyway.

Fully Customized Camaro SS By CEC Wheels

Sep 12, 2012

Beverly Hills' CEC Wheels had the opportunity to work on a vehicle that they don't normally get to work on. That's right, they customized a Chevy Camaro SS. But we're going to take it step by step of what all was done to it...

  • CEC mounted a set of staggered 22 inch CEC c884 Forged and finished them in brushed gunmetal giving the already wide stance of the Camaro an even wider feel.

  • A custom grill by DJ Grilles painted to match the finish of the wheels, helps keep the style consistant from all angles.

  • Lamborghini inspired doors changed the entire style of the car and giving it a completely unique look when opened.

  • This SS has been lowered about 1.4" in the front and 1.3" in the rear, using H&R's sport lowering springs, giving it a boost in handling while maintaining a superb ride quality.

  • A custom stainless steel performance exhaust system coated with a heat resistant matte black paint as well as some engine upgrades.

Not bad. Not bad at all...

CEC Talks BMW 640i Gran Coupe and Shows off C881 Wheels

Sep 10, 2012

The 640i Gran Coupe is the third model in the BMW 6 Series line-up, and is the first four-door Coupe in the history of the brand. This week we were privileged enough to have our friends at BMW North America lend us a 2013 Gran Coupe 640i for the day. The 6 Gran Coupe is a true mix between the 5, the 6, and the 7 Series cars. The rear-wheel drive 640i Gran Coupe is powered by a 315-hp 3.0-liter turbocharged inline 6-cylinder engine with direct fuel injection, and mated to an eight-speed sport automatic transmission with manual mode.

Adding to the already stunning looks of the Gran Coupe our 22" staggered CEC c881, an open 5 spoke sophisticated design with race inspired lines, gives the wheels an aggressive look. The CEC c881 on the Gran Coupe gives the wheels a wide looking stance as well. The c881 is also available in a 20" version so you can keep those original tires.

With the factory tires 245/35 and 275/30 we mounted our 20" staggered CEC c882 which give the 6 a sleek and curvy look while keeping the stock tires for an undoubted fit under the wheel wells. Featuring a modern deep concave look and swooping lines, the c882 truly is a compliment to an already stunning vehicle.

-CEC Wheels

Personally, I'm not a fan of the 640i Gran Coupe because BMW's lineup is all four door vehicles except for 2 or 3 models. The 650i is a popular vehicle, and it stood strong as a 2 door coupe.  But to come out with a Gran Coupe (code words for 4 door cramped vehicle), surrounded by the 530 and 750 doesn't make sense to me.

CEC Wheels is selling a 2012 Audi R8

Sep 5, 2012

Beverly Hills Staple, CEC Wheels is selling a 2012 Audi R8. According to the exotic aficionados, "Finished in a gorgeous Ice Silver Metallic with Oxygen Silver sideblades over Red leather interior, this R8 is in immaculate condition and the factory warranty is in effect until October 2015, or 50,000 miles (Bernie's note: whichever comes first). The Audi R8 is based on a legendary Lamborghini Gallardo, however the R8 is designed to be a far more usable, everyday mid-engine supercar. It has more head room, comfortable seating, and is much more user friendly than its sister car from Italy. This doesn't mean it's been dulled down in any way, with a 4.2L V8 and Audi's Quattro All-Wheel Drive System making sure all 430 horses make it to the ground.

Basically what CEC just said is that the Audi R8 is a more practical exotic car.

Before you start dialing Claus at 310-203-3900, Bernie has to give you a little tough love. If your house isn't as exotic or luxurious as this car, do not entertain the thought of purchasing this. You can't live in Watts and drive this, and if you do... you need to log off my blog and call up an accountant and a life coach. But if there's a chance that you do have enough money to own this vehicle, as well as the maintence for it, by all means call CEC Wheels.

I wonder how far CEC Wheels is from the Ihop that offers valet parking? Where I'm from, Ihop doesn't have valet parking, in fact, it barely has parking.

CEC Wheels adds their C883 Wheel to the 2013 Range Rover

Sep 3, 2012

All-new from the ground up, the 2013 Range Rover uses an all-aluminum unibody structure — a first for a SUV — and an all-new aluminum front and rear chassis architecture to shed around 700 pounds compared to 2012 models.

With the earliest official images on the loose, CEC Wheels took it upon themselves to mock up a few photos with their CEC c883 SUV wheel. CEC Wheels, featuring a 22-inch application , we feel this heavyweight turned lightweight SUV gets a boost of style and elegance from the original factory 19-inch wheels. These CEC wheels were uniquely manufactured to accept the factory Land Rover hardware.

With three finishes available for this particular wheel, custom finishes are also available at an additional cost. With Liquid Silver, Matte Black and our newest finish; Magic Black with machined face, there is a color combination for even the most scrupulous clients.

CEC Wheels shows off their CR91 Wheels on a Fisker Karma

Aug 15, 2012

The good folks at CEC Wheels released photos of their CR91 Wheels being modeled on a Fisker Karma. According to CEC, "the Fisker Karma is the first dramatically and aggressively styled luxury hybrid. With its swooping lines and wide, hunkered down stance, the car is a sight to behold on its own. At CEC, we wanted to continue with, yet enhance that aggressive theme. There's no better way to set the Fisker Karma off than to add an equally aggressive and dramatic set of wheels. With staggered 22 inch CR91 Forged wheels, exclusively designed for the RESERVE by CEC program for the Fisker Karms, the CR91 wheels fill out the Karma's large wheel wells. Finished in a matte white/ machined finish to compliment the pearl white paint, the Karms gets a more complete and sporty look thanks to the CR91 Forged wheels.

CEC Wheels Talks Mercedes CL65 AMG and Shows off the C883 Wheels

Jun 20, 2012

Beverly Hills' own, CEC Wheels, sat down and discussed what makes the Mercedes Benz CL65 AMG so great, as well as why their C883 wheel is the perfect compliment.

Starting at $59,500 more than the CL63, the CL65 is one of the most powerful CL-Class ever offered. Compared to the CL63 with a 5.5L twin-turbo V8 engine generating 536hp and 590lb-ft of torque, the hand crafted engine of the CL65 AMG 6.0L twin-turbo V12 engine generates an impressive 621hp and 738lb-ft of peak torque.

In a stunning Mercedes Benz Designo Magno Alanite Matte finish, the c883 Forged in Anthracite/Machined finish is the perfect compliment for the CL65. The attractive split 7-spoke design of the 21” staggered c883 Forged formulates a sleek combination to accentuate the details of the CL65.

The c883 Forged is built to order for many unique fitments and is available in finishes including Matte Black/Machined and Anthracite/Machined finishes. Available sizing includes 19”, 20”, 21”, and 22” and widths ranging from 8.5” and 13”.

Personally, I like the CL because of the body. It's not as bulky as the S Class, nor is it miniscule like the SL class. I really can't stand the SL class.

CEC Wheels explains the difference between forged and cast wheels.

May 18, 2012

CEC Wheels released an article that was interesting and informing. CEC was kind enough to post a quick article about the construction methods of both casting and forging aluminum wheels.

"The casting process involves pouring or injecting molten aluminum into a mold containing a cavity with the desired shape of the wheel. This allows for greater design flexibility and higher production volume compared to a forged wheel. Until recently, most wheels have been gravity cast (heavier and thicker). Today, low pressure casting techniques are used to substantially reduce porosity and mass. Cast wheels are generally designed larger and heavier in order to achieve acceptable load rating for a given application."

"CEC Forged wheels are manufactured in multiple steps compared to the one step in the casting process. Forged wheels have greater structural integrity and less mass, and usually cost substantially more than cast wheels due to the multiple processes and complicated machinery involved. While forged wheels are typically reserved for high performance vehicles where the reduction in rotating mass and unsprung weight is desired to increase performance, our CEC Forged wheels are built to order for nearly any vehicle."

Remember, you learn somrthing new everyday, and thanks to CEC Wheels, I developed another wrinkle in my brain.
