Upcoming Car Show: 2010 NOPI/HIN Show in the Windy City

Sep 16, 2010

Chi-Town!!! The final stop of the 2010 NOPI/HIN tour is in the hometown of LisaRaye, President Obama, Twista, and Hugh Hefner. On September 25-26, you will not be at a White Sox game (it's not like you'll be missing anything, unless if they're playing the Yankees). Instead the NOPI/HIN finale will be at Soldier Field in Chicago. I'm guessing you know how to get there, if not, ask one of the four names I mentioned earlier, if you happen to know them personally. I know I don't.

Well if you want to go to the show, get those tickets in advance. Click on the banner above, and order the tickets online. THEN type " BERNIENOPI " in the Promo Code...

Chicago should end this tour with a BANG!!!

Upcoming Car Show: 2010 NOPI/HIN Show, Sin City!!!

Sep 10, 2010

Vegas!!!! The second to the final stop is rolling through to Sin City. I know those who live there don't gamble, so on September 18-19 NOPI/HIN will be at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway, which is actually in Las Vegas. It's only 20 minutes north off of I-15...

If you do want to save a little cash, click on the banner, order the tickets online, and type " BERNIENOPI " into the Promo Code area.

Why do I picture Holly Madison being there? I still love Girls Next Door, but with the original girls.

UPDATED: Upcoming Car Show: 2010 NOPI/HIN Show, LA

Aug 25, 2010

LA!!! On August 21-22, what will you be doing??? Well, let me make a suggestion. The fifth stop of the NOPI/HIN Tour is rolling west allllllll the way to LA. It will be held at Angel Stadium in Anaheim. It's about 35 mins from wherever Google considers the main point of LA to the stadium, but you might hit some traffic on the 5.

UPDATED: NOPI/HIN changed the date and time of the LA Location. It is now being held on September 18th at the Los Angeles Convention Center. (I guess holding it at Angel Stadium would bring the LA Angels luck) The time will be from 4pm-11pm (that's a late show, especially if it's indoors.)

If you want to save a little cash, click on the banner, order the tickets online, type " BERNIENOPI " into the Promo Code.

Don't thank me now, but if you see a rapper that goes by the name of Glasses Malone, tell him Bernie says hi, since he doesn't come to Atlanta anymore.

Check out Tony and his Dragon Inspired Mitsubishi Eclipse

Here's some more photos:

And hear what Tony has to say about his car.

Reminds me of the Dragon Coster at Rye Playland. But I couldn't get past how him and his son did it all by themselves.

Upcoming Car Show: 2010 NOPI/HIN Show, M-I-A

Aug 6, 2010

Hola Miami. The fourth stop on the NOPI/HIN is rolling through Miami on August 14-15. The location has changed and it's now at the Miami Convention Center. Because it's indoors, it's strictly a car show... ONLY.

So if you are planning on attending, which you should, just click on the banner, order your tickets and type " BERNIENOPI " into the Promo Code area, and save yourself a little cash.

Let me know how it goes, since I can't shut down Miami for the second time. That first time was something else...

Recapping the 2010 NOPI/HIN Atlanta

Aug 3, 2010

NOPI returned to Atlanta!!!! After three long years, this time, they teamed up with Hot Import Nights and came back to the Atlanta Motor Speedway on July 31 and August 1. Unfortunately, I had a prior engagement, so I could only go out there on August 1. But there's a part of me that is thinking that Saturday had a better turn out than Sunday. I do know that I missed Jasiel (Yung Joc to you guys), but I see him a lot around Atlanta.

I've said this many times that the 2007 NOPI was my first car show and how I thought the show was just the Funkmaster Flex Car Show. But I enjoyed myself because there were soooooo many cars. There was a variety, but they were mostly imports.

NOPI came back, but this year was a little different. It was smaller because some of the people who usually come were a little apprehensive towards the turnout. It was like I expected, mostly imports. When I was hearing about guys' thoughts about NOPI, they were a bit let down cause it was mostly an import type show. There's less Crown Victorias, Chargers, early 80's vehicles, etc but there's more Hondas, Scions, Mitsubishis. It was like I never left New York.

Let's take a looksy.

Reminds me of the days of drag racing on DPA (Deer Park Avenue, it's a Long Island thing)

(I like the curtains)

She's not just a NOPI Model, she does all car shows and she's been in music videos (That's how I know her). Check out jadacheng.com for more info about her. Don't be surprised if you see her on here again, especially cause she's from New York.

The Steelers license plate frame ruined the moment. I should have tossed it somewhere.

The owner of the bear wanted me to take the photo.

The owner of this truck said that he loves New Yorkers

Since he said that, I might as well showcase his other vehicle.

So cute

Here's the funny part, I recognized this car from the 07 NOPI. Back then, he airbrushed Biggie, Tupac, Left Eye, Aaliyah and Jam Master Jay on the car. Don't believe me???

Told you....

We all know I hate body kits on SUVs

This ain't your Daddy's Toyota Camry, and if it was, I don't think Sunshine (her actual name) would be leaning on it.

However Interviews from these two vehicles are coming soon...

There better be a 2011 NOPI Tour. I didn't see the Hot Import Nights aspect at all. For more photos, check out 2010 NOPI/HIN Car Show in Atlanta gallery at Betrueatl.com

Upcoming Car Show: 2010 NOPI/HIN Show, ATL Shawty...

Jul 23, 2010

Atlanta... I know ain't nothing else going on it Atlanta on July 31-August 1. Don't try to lie to me cause you know I'm on the radar. Don't act like you're going to the Braves game...

The third stop on the NOPI/HIN tour is at the Atlanta Motor Speedway in HAMPTON, GA. It is roughly one hour from the place where I park my 'Voy. Take I-75 to exit 235 and haul it down Tara Blvd for about 13 miles (Don't worry, there's plenty of fast food places and gas stations along the way).

Since I know we have some hard core car guys out there, and if you want to save money so that you can buy that extra bottle of tire shine, click on the banner, and when you order your tickets, type " BERNIENOPI" into the Promo Code area.

Don't thank me now, thank me by letting me interview you for this blog.

Upcoming Car Show: 2010 NOPI/HIN Show, New York

Jul 16, 2010

New York!!!! What are you'se doing on July 24-25??? You gotta decide between the Yankees game or the NOPI/HIN Show in Englishtown, NJ. The way I figured it, since you'll be in traffic, watch the game on the way to the show. Or just check the scores on your phone, as you're checking out hot cars.

Anyway, the second stop on the NOPI/HIN tour is at the Old Bridge Township Raceway Park in Englishtown, NJ. Roughly one hour south of Yankee Stadium.

Hey listen, if you'se planning on going, when you purchase your advance tickets (which are always cheaper than buying the day of the show), type " BERNIENOPI " into the Promo Code and save yourself $5 per ticket.

Thank me by letting me know how the show goes...

My Direction of Doing Donuts With Bernie

Jul 12, 2010

After I sent out the releases to promote this blog, I'd figure that I would explain the direction of where I'm going with this.

Since the age of 5, I've been involved with photography. At the age of 8, I was fascinated with cars. Since 2007, I love car shows, I love going to them, I love covering them (photos and video. I stepped my game up). I love talking to people about their cars. If I can go around the country and cover car shows, I would be ecstatic. And I wanted to do something different than the "norm of Atlanta". If you hear the words "I have a blog based out of Atlanta", it's a blog that has to do with celebrities (which really means gossip). Out of all the celebrity blogs in Atlanta, only a handful provides exclusive content that people actually care about reading. After hearing that a million and one times, you want something different. I don't want to be like everyone else, I want to do something different. I wanted a blog, but I don't want it to be like everyone else's in Atlanta. So I went against the grain and started an automotive blog. The difference between a blog like mine versus an automotive blog like Dub is that I want to go to as many car shows as possible. Nothing personal against Dub, but on their site, they only show coverage of their shows and it takes them months to post 6 photos. Also, I would love to see coverage of a car show where I couldn't attend, which is so hard to find...

Another side to this is to talk to car enthusiasts about their vehicles, including celebrities. Most people, more specifically guys, love their vehicles and love to talk about their vehicles especially to a female. Why not go for it.

Finally, if you're looking for reviews for aftermarket parts, new vehicles, etc, I'll provide that, along with some downloads to music you can play in your vehicle. And most importantly, I'm having fun with this and I do have enough knowledge to really talk about this.

At the end of the day, I want something that I can be proud of which encompasses what I love and something that is unique in the city that I chose to live in.

Take everything that I mentioned earlier and throw in my opinion, and that's where I'm going with Doing Donuts With Bernie... Hate it, love it, or be confused by it, I'm not going anywhere.

Upcoming Car Show: 2010 NOPI/HIN Show in Boston

Jun 24, 2010

Boston!!!!! July 2-3 is the first stop for the 2010 NOPI/HIN tour... It'll be held at the New England Dragway in Epping, New Hampshire (That's not exactly Boston, but it's an hour north of Red Sox territory...). Just take I-95 to I-93, you'll get there. Feel free to throw eggs at Fenway Park for me.

If you are looking to attend and want to save a little money, click on the banner above, which will take you to the NOPI/HIN tickets page, type " BERNIENOPI " as the promo code and save yourself $5. I'm looking out for my viewers.

Just let me know how it is... And I hope there's not any customized Boston Red Sox cars. You know I am forever Yankees.

Attention: the 2010 NOPI schedule has been finalized...

This Lexus Made My Eyes Twinkle

Apr 28, 2010

So at the Dub Car Show in Memphis, I ran into the car that I absolutely loved... So pretty, and if it was 2005, I'm sure Cam'ron would have been all over this big-bodied Lexus.

I'm all for protecting the innocent, so I blurred out Sunshine's license plate, as well as not putting Sunshine in any of the photos. He's a nice guy from Memphis, but his Lexus has Florida Plates. He let me do whatever I want to get the type of photos I needed, just as long as I didn't put him in the photos. I wonder if he would have let me taken this out on a little test drive...
I was so in awe I forgot to ask him what model is the car. From a glance, it appears to be the Lexus LS460. I doubt it's the hybrid line cause dudes don't really check for hybrids.

Of course, he had the cover for the engine parts that matched the exterior of the vehicle.

Then he has it sitting on 24 inch Davins, still color matched...

Let's go around back, shall we??? Smoked out tail lights!!!

Now, let's head inside. I love the attention to detail. Nothing was left out...

Pink dashboard, slightly darker pink carpet, pink ostrich accents, pink ostrich seats with lavender suede accents, lavender seat belts and the buckle is pink... Let's jump in the back.

I see some TVs, some remotes, even put a center console in the back to make it strictly a four passenger vehicle.

Now here's the funny part. This was his first car show and someone submitted his car into the show. I think he can make a lot of noise in Atlanta with this car, and I'm trying to bring him over here to compete in NOPI cause with this car, he can definitely place.

As much as I love this vehicle, especially the way it was customized, how clean it is and the attention to detail, would I have owned a vehicle exactly like this??? No, and two reasons why I wouldn't. One: it's pink. Yes I'm a girl, but not all chicks like pink. Two: This would get too much attention, and I get enough of that pushing my 'Voy...

I still love this Lex though...

NOPI's Back and They're Coming to Atlanta... and other cities.

Mar 21, 2010

The company that showed me what a real car show is, is FINALLY Back!!!!!!!!! After a three loooooooonnnnnnnnnng year break, NOPI will be back in Atlanta and a few other places. The two day show will include drag racing, car shows (Yay!!!!), models (Please leave the raggity ones at home. I'm not suppose to look better than the models.), music, and more. Here's the schedule as follows:

1. New England Dragway Epping, NH 7/2-7/3/2010
2. ETown Dragway Englishtown, NJ 7/24-7/25/2010 (They should have just said NJ instead of NY. Englishtown is 45 miles away from City Hall in Manhattan or 54 miles from both Yankee Stadium and Citi Field. I got to look out of my New Yorkers.)
3. Atlanta Motor Speedway Hampton, GA 7/31-8/1/2010
4. Miami, FL 8/13-8/14/2010
5. Angel Stadium Anaheim, CA 8/21-8/22/2010
6. Chicago, IL TBD
7. Las Vegas Motor Speedway Las Vegas, NV 9/17-9/18/2010

My First Car Show: 2007 NOPI Nationals

Mar 20, 2010

The first show I've ever attended spoiled me greatly. At first, I thought I was attending the Funkmaster Flex Car Show in Atlanta, then when I got there, it was the NOPI Nationals with Flex having a small part of the show. Despite the slightly hefty admission fee ($45 for one day, $55 for two days), it was worth it.

Envoy
Like every show, there's cars that entered who didn't have any customizations done to it (Don't you just hate that), but the stock vehicles were few and far between, thank god. There were vehicles that you don't normally see customized- Like this GMC Envoy (NO, this isn't mine)

Expedition
Hardwood floors inside of an Expedition.

Mazdas with crazy sound systems that don't allow for passengers.

Girly Honda Civics done right (I better not catch a dude driving driving this)

Love the LV seats!!!

The Mitsubishi Eclipse with the metal floors that coordinate with the rest of the vehicle.

And my favorite, the Dodge Charger that will cost a lot to make it stock again.

Going to NOPI as my first car show was well worth it, but I thought that all car shows were going to be like that. Was I wrong or what???? I LOVED NOPI, and too bad that was the last time NOPI came to Atlanta, whice forced me to be subjected to HORRIBLE car shows like the V-103 Car and Bike Concert in Atlanta. Yeah, I said it...
