Happy 4th Anniversary to Doing Donuts With Bernie
Mar 12, 2014
In 2010, I had a crazy idea to start my own automotive blog. Four years later, I'm still blogging and covering car shows. Although it hasn't been easy, I'm still here. This year, I plan to remain injury free (I learned that trying to blog with a concussion isn't fun), but most importantly, I'll be attending some great car shows. Aside from some car shows in Atlanta, I have my eyes on covering car shows in Miami, Dallas, Houston, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, and of course..... I have to go back home to New York.
To honor Doing Donuts With Bernie's fourth anniversary, I wanted to recap the top 10 blog posts based on pageviews with some updated captioning.
10. All Black Everything... A Chevy Avalanche by CarTunes of Atlanta and Butler Tire.
2014 is the final year of the Chevy Avalanche. Thankfully one of the owners of an Avalanche decided to bring it to the guys of CarTunes of Atlanta and Butler Tire. Honestly speaking, I'm not a fan of pickup trucks. Never have been, never will be. However, this particular Avalanche looks great.
9. Young Dro's Cadillac Escalade EXT
Grand Hustle rapper Young Dro customized one of his vehicles- a Cadillac Escalade EXT. His purpose was to make his Escalade stand out as much as he could... and he did. Not only did he change the chrome trim to rose gold, he added Asanti Wheels, an Asanti Grille with his logo in the middle, and added his name on the truck. I haven't seen Dro in a looooonnnnngggg time, so I honestly don't know if he still has the Escalade.
8. Dub Magazine Releases Their 2012 Car Show Schedule.
The shows already happened with a lot of success. However, if you're wondering if the 2014 Dub Car Show tour will be coming to a city near you, well check out their updated schedule by clicking here. P.S. I wonder what ever happened to The Situation.
7. Just When Justin Beiber Was Doing So Well...
Atlanta's newest resident, Justin Beiber, did the most tragic thing and purchased a Smart Car and customized it. The customizations look great, after all West Coast Customs did it, but it was done on a Smart Car. Why????
6. Kim Kardashian's Serious "Kar" Game.
This was a complete breakdown of Kim Kardashian's White Range Rover Sport Supercharged that Platinum Motorsports customized. It looked great, I wished the customizations were taken a step further with the interior instead of leaving it stock.
5. Shop Review, Reme Designs of Long Island, NY.
My first shop review, and I decided to go back to home to Long Island and interview one of the most well known (and respected) customizers. Since then, Reme has decided to reunite with his former boss, Will Castro, and now he's back at Unique Autosp-- I mean-- Unique Designs.
4. Interesting Customization: Justin Beiber and his Chromed Out Fisker Karma
This was the beginning of a big customization trend- having your car wrapped in chrome. Since then, the colors of the chrome have expanded, but the trend has died down. Seriously- it's hard to photograph a chrome vehicle outside, with the sun bouncing off the car
3. Darth Vader's Ultimate Car by West Coast Customs
Lucas Films requested West Coast Customs to customize a VW Jetta for Darth Vader's. This episode of Inside West Coast Customs is one of their most popular shows yet.
2. Wide-Bodied Dodge Challenger Courtesy of Forgiato Wheels
Very popular post, and how can you not love a Dodge Challenger with a wide body kit on Forgiato wheels?
And the number one post....
Tragic Customization: Snooki's Cadillac Escalade EXT
I'm so happy Snooki sold it. My opinion on this Escalade hasn't changed...
Here's to another year of Doing Donuts With Bernie!!!! Thank you for reading and there will be more to come...

Tyga's New $2.2 million Maybach 62 S Landaulet

TMZ should stick to chasing people down the street cause they SUCK at photographing a car. It is not that hard!!!!

Dec 19, 2013
2013 is winding down and Christmas is around the corner but that's not slowing down the work that the customization shops are putting out. I was able to put together a post of my top 12 photos (in no specific order) of some of the great companies I follow on Instagram. And hopefully after this post, you can follow them (as well as me) too.
West Coast Customs (@WestCoastCustoms) photographed this custom matte white and carbon fiber Range Rover Evoque.
Trendsetters (@Trendsetters214) along with Forgiato Wheels (@forgiato) Showed off this 2014 SRT8 Jeep Grand Cherokee sitting on Forgiato's Monoleggera Tratto-M series wheels in 24 inches.
These seats look so comfy. Platinum Motorsports (@platinum_group) has teamed up with the Bentley Motor Corporation to present the Beverly Hills Platinum Series. Bentley definitely collaborated with the right customization shop.
Exclusive Motoring (@exclusivemotoring) is finally showing off a BMW 550i customized with carbon fiber mirror covers, painted red calipers, and lowered on 20" Vossen wheels with color matched inserts and center caps.
Orlando's own Ultimate Auto (@UltimateAutoBoutique) released a photo or two of this 2014 Ferrari 458 Spyder wearing Savini Forged Wheels (21" in the front, 22" in the back), Novatech lowering springs, smoked lights, painted trim, an Escort radar, 3M clear bra and a partridge in a pear tree.
Straight out of New Jersey, Lux Motorwerks (@lux_motorwerks) released a shot of this all black Range Rover Sport Autobiography edition with custom emblems.
The only rainbow I'm allowed to taste (I'm on a diet/eating clean) is courtesy of Long Island's own Martino Auto Concepts (@MartinoAutoConcepts). Keep in mind that this is a very, very tiny percentage of Lamborghinis that Martino Auto Concepts have put their hands on.
MLB's favorite custom shop, MC Customs (@mccustomsmiami) was hard at work painting these brake calipers matte orange for a Chevrolet Camaro ZL1.
One of Miami's big three, The Auto Firm (@theAutoFirm) released a photo of a vehicle that I don't really show off. I'm not a fan of pickup trucks, but I decided to show off one that the Auto Firm customized. This Ford Raptor is painted in Satin Black with gloss black accents, 2" lift kit, LED lights on the front, exhaust system, Audison Hertz Sound System, wearing 20" Custom painted Fuel Wheels, and on top of that, the proud owner of this vehicle is Michael Beasley of the Miami Heat.
Dub Magazine (@dubmagazine) released a collage of a 2014 Lexus IS350 F Sporton 20" Concept One CS-20 Wheels.
Asanti Wheels (@AsantiWheels) is giving their followers a sneak peek into their 2014 Collection. Here we have the new Asanti 811 Wheel.
Right out of Kansas City, KC Trends (@kctrends) photographed a 2014 Mercedes Benz G550 factory painted matte black, but they added Forgiato Wheels' Maglia wheels in 24" mounted with Pirelli's Scorpion Zero Tires.
After seeing some of these photos maybe you found someone new to follow, other than me (@CarShowBernie)
Bernie's Car Show Coverage: 2013 SEMA Show Day 2 (Sneak Peek)
Nov 11, 2013
Bernie's SEMA Coverage continues with the run down of Day 2...
I started out the show outside at the West Coast Customs' Experience area, and boy was it an experience. Taking advantage of the great weather, and hypnotized people by displaying great looking cars, West Coast Customs took over the area between the LVH and the Central Hall of the Las Vegas Convention Center.
Unfortinately, WCC felt the need to bring Will.I.Am hidious Deloren. I don't know why, but this is a classic case of "just because you have money, it doesn't mean you have great taste" mixed with "the customer isn't always right".
To make up for bring that monstracity, WCC brought noted vehicles like the rose gold Lamborghini Aventador and Justin Bieber's leopard Audi R8. I'm sure the entire female population of New Jersey would love the Bieb's R8.
But being the nice guys that they are, West Coast Customs shared the space with Onyx Concept Vehicles. Onyx brought with them a Range Rover, a Bentley Continental GT, a Porsche Cayenne, Range Rover Evoque, and the Porsche Panamera that's above.
Finally I went inside, and I was able to see the racing legend, Mario Andretti at the MagnaFlow booth. I didn't get the opportunity to meet him because his line was looooonnnnngggg. But he wasn't the only one who had a long line that day...
SEMA's Favorite Celebrity, the one and only Chip Foose, always has the longest lines. This line literally circled completely around the MagnaFlow booth-- and their booth isn't a tiny space either.
Between the South and Central Halls, Toyo Tires had a great size space, where they showed off some great looking vehicles. One of them happened to be a 2013 Subaru BRZ from Long Island, NY. I welcome any and every opportunity to show off vehicles from NY. Anyway, this BRZ's exterior is painted in LFA yellow paint, with a Varis wide body kit, and a Voltex Type 1S GT Spoiler. The interior has a Stack dash gauge cluster, GTSPEC Carbon Fiber Trims, Essex Roll Bar, Takata Harness, GTSPEC seat rails reinforcement brace, and Bride Stradia II Seats.
Another notable vehicle is this Liberty Walk 2008 Lamborghini Murcielago. Customizations include Widebody kit, front bumper type 2, front, side, and rear diffusors, rear bumper, rear wind version 3, and headlight trim all by Liberty Walk. From there, they added an IPE Exhaust with Liberty Walk Exhaust Tips, with LB Performance Wheels to round out the customizations.
Savini had a Lamborghini Aventador on a revolving platform in their space.
Giovanna Wheels had the same space that they had last year, especially because it works in their favor. On the spacious back wall, they showed off all of their wheels, and between the walkway and the wheels were a couple of million dollars in vehicles.
Models, models, and more models. Thank 2 Crave Wheels, Giovanna Wheels, and Forgiato Wheels.
Chevy's super spacious space had some noteworthy vehicles. The biggest headturner of all... this Corvette Stingray Gran Turismo Concept modeled after the Playstation 3 game Gran Turismo 6.
Look who I finally got to meet!!!
Yellow Lowrider truck outside.
And another Lowrider, but this one is an electric blue Impala. I love the colors.
This matte black Nemo truck had a lot of looks as well.
My day ended watching Vaughn Gittin Jr drifting in the Ford Racing space. First he did some solo drifting, then he did some tandom drifting, and showing off in the end by kicking up just a little bit of smoke. The little bit of smoke was purely sarcastic, but it was enough to force his drifting partner, Ryan Tuerck to drive out of the smoke.
For the rest of the photos, check out Bernie's 2013 SEMA Show: Day 2 Coverage. More pics are coming soon.
