The Battle of the Hummers: Ultimate Auto vs The Auto Firm

Mar 24, 2014

Photo borrowed from Car and Driver

In 2010, General Motors dismantled the whole Hummer brand. After the economy tanked, people changed how they spend money on automobiles. Finding Hummers on the road is few and far between, but that's not stopping people from getting them customized.

Within the past week, two of Florida's most respected customization shops (Ultimate Auto of Orlando and The Auto Firm of Miami) released instagram photos of Hummers they've customized. First up, Ultimate Auto and the Hummer H1 that they worked on.

An owner of this Hummer H1 came to Ultimate Auto to get his truck customized. He went to the right place because this H1 got the full UA treatment. Exterior customizations include Full Kevlar exterior, UA hand made bumpers, and roof rack, 40 inch Toyo Tires, JL Audio sound system, police lights for days, and my favorite comment... Enough Rigid lights to light up Yankee Stadium. (Side note: I love any comments that mention the New York Yankees)

Now for the interior... all black Napa leather and black suede, full JL Audio sound system with 3 TW5v3 13" subs mounted in the roof, zero space lost in the trunk and bass for days....

Ultimate Auto was kind enough to give you a instagram peek...

Now, further south in Miami we have the Auto Firm. One of their customers came to the Auto Firm for some work done on a Hummer H2, and of course they received the royal AF treatment.

Customizations include custom satin black paint, custom interior, sound system and 22 inch XD Series Wheels. And if you want to have a look at the vehicle...

The Auto Firm included an instagram peek as well.

But now for the main question... who won this round? Was it Ultimate Auto and their H1? Or was it The Auto Firm and their H2? I know one thing, both shops performed some miracles on these gas guzzling vehicles.

Ironically, both Hummers are for out-of-area clients. Remember, if and when you find a customization shop that does high quality work, please stick with them. That was a PSA announcement.

UA added a Meisterschaft valve-tronic exhaust system, 20 inch custom painted Vossen CV4 Wheels, custom painted gold calipers, Renntech lowering module, smoked lights, LLumar ceramic window tint and of course a custom JL Audio bass package in the truck. Keep scrolling to see more pictures...

P.S. I do have a shop review coming soon for Ultimate Auto.

Ultimate Auto Shows off a Nissan GTR

Sep 30, 2013

Orlando's own, Ultimate Auto, released photos of a Nissan GTR that they've partly completed. First round of customizations include custom built 21 inch Vellano concave wheels in a matching brushed and polished two tone finish. Carbon fiber lips on the wheels accentuate the other carbon bits found throughout. The rears measure a massive 12.5" wide with steam roller sized 355 Pirelli tires. The lowered suspension slings the body down low over the impressive rolling stock. Up front, they added a second set of LED lights to match the originals and built a custom splitter/ spoiler combo in aluminum and carbon fiber. The rear spoiler also received a carbon fiber overlay to match the carbon naca ducts, side vents, rear exhaust trim, and wheels. Finally they wrapped it all up with custom painted trim and grille.

The next round of upgrades are coming soon, and it's performance upgrades. I love how Ultimate Auto describes the customizations that were done, so that's why I always use what they say. I tend to write how I talk, and if you had a conversation with me, you know I have a tiny bit of a New York accent.

Ultimate Auto customizes Tahoe for Oklahoma City Thunder's Daniel Orton

Orlando's Number one automotive customization shop, Ultimate Auto, released photos of one of their latest project. One day, Daniel Orton of the Oklahoma City Thunder, came to UA with a Chevy Tahoe. The premise for this customization to have a vehicle that is comfortable to ride around in and also comfortable to drive, if he decides to drive it. But for the most part, he rides around in it. Dubbed the War Machine, this Tahoe was dipped in BASF matte black paint with gloss black accents. From there, they added some comfortable shoes- custom 26 inch Savini wheels wrapped in Pirelli tires, with a slightly lowered suspension to fill the wheel well. To round out the exterior customizations, massive Wilwood brakes reside behind the wheels to add a touch a color (hence the red) and a huge dose of performance.

Now for the interior customizations. As we step inside, the interior is wrapped completely in suede and houses a pair of custom power recliners. You can't ride around without entertainment. Ultimate Auto added JL Audio speakers and amplifiers so Magna Carta, Holy Grail sounds great (like you don't have that Jay-Z album) and also the sound coming from the Xbox that is stealthly added between the rear two seats and a massive flip down screen.

I may not have the slightest clue of who Daniel Orton is, but at least he's riding around comfortably.

Ultimate Auto Shows off a Widebody Range Rover Evoque

Feb 1, 2013

And I think this is the first of it's kind. Orlando's own, Ultimate Auto released photos of a Range Rover Evoque. As we all know, the Evoque just came out, and they're slowly showing up on the road more and more. According to UA, this Evoque features a Hammann body kit, Vesuvius Orange paint, 22 inch Lexani Wheels, and lowering springs to help fill out the wheel well...

Car Show Coverage: 2011 Orlando Festivals of Speed

Mar 15, 2012

Yesterday, I received an email from blingmastertvevents.com, containing car show coverage from last years' Orlando Festivals of Speed show. This isn't your typical car show, because this show is geared towards exotics and vintage cars, which means that each car is worth a substantial amount of money. Also, I love the scenery of the show. It's gorgeous. Check out the coverage from the show so I can stop talking about the scenery.

(The owner should donate this vehicle to me. After all, I am a starving artist)

(I think I have that same dress in black. Sorry, girl moment)

I wish I can be in Orlando for the show, but this is the first annual one. Hopefully they'll have a 2nd annual one so I can go... But the fliers tell you all you need to know.

You can't beat a free car show.
