Two models of ZXS monoblock amps are available, both under 14 inches long and easy to handle during installation. And they can still be personalized with colorful vinyl skins.

ZXS1000.1 Amplifier

The ZXS1500.1 and ZXS1000.1 Mono-Channel Subwoofer Amplifiers give the user a couple of manageable power choices for supplying bass needs. Hiding under a small, efficient chassis, ZXS.1 Amps offer a 24dB/octave low-pass electronic crossover and a 24dB/octave, high-pass subsonic filter fixed at 25 hertz. ZXS monoblock amps use a boost converter power supply for the highest sound quality and super efficiency. Boost converter technology allows ZXS monoblock amps to achieve a typical efficiency of nearly 90 percent, better than Class D and way more than Class A/B power, for cooler running and optimum reliability. It also requires fewer internal parts, which allows ZXS amplifiers to be nearly 30 percent smaller than its ZX-amp counterparts.

Bernie's Favorite: Kicker Audio pays tribute to September 11th....

Sep 12, 2011

September 11th 2001 is a day that no one will ever forget. I remember exactly what I was doing at 8:45am that Tuesday morning. I was in school- a senior to be exact on Long Island. When the towers was hit, I wondered was my sister alright, seeing how she worked in Tower 2 on the 16th floor on that particular day....

Kicker Audio decided to join forces and pay tribute to September 11th by taking a donated and funded Silverado by General Motors, customizing it, and unveiled it at Ground Zero on September 6 for families and friends who lost loved ones 10 years ago.

“It was an absolute privilege for KICKER to be involved in this tribute project,” KICKER global trainer John Myers said. “We’re an American
audio company, headquartered in the heart of the U.S., so we wanted to provide this jaw-dropping truck with an audio system that matched its
heart-felt paint job which commemorates those who risked their lives for this nation.”

The Silverado 2500HD Crew Cab was gorgeously airbrushed by Mickey Harris, an internationally renowned artist identified by his intricate
detail work. On the truck body, Harris painted memorable depictions of 9/11 first responders in action, as well as symbols of American
freedom. A 13 ½-foot, reverse tonneau cover displays the names of more than 400 first responders.

“I love my nation, and the first responders deserve to be recognized as the brave heroes that they are,” Harris said.

Knowing impeccable sound would be a huge part of the presentation, Harris requested KICKER for the Chevy’s audio source. Within the
months spent on the project at Mountain Muscle Cars in Cosby, Tenn., 2 ½ weeks were put aside to install the audio system.

Myers and KICKER acoustic engineer Deon Bearden designed both an internal audio system and an external one for paramount effect. They
loaded four 15-inch CompVX subwoofers into a 49-cubic-foot, tapped-horn enclosure, with each driver powered by its own IX-Series 1,000-
watt mono amplifier.

Externally, mounted between the cab and running boards are three pairs of KM6500.2 HLCD (horn-loaded compression-driver) Tower Speaker
Systems and two additional pairs of KM6500 midrange speakers, which are all driven by four space-saving IX500.2 stereo amps. Sixteen
wake-tower cans made for boats were also donated by KICKER dealer AudioFormz and owner Ronnie Cherry in Wills Point, Texas.

Two 300-amp Ohio Generator alternators and Kinetik high-current power cells help meet the system’s intense power demands.

Harris said other aftermarket products involved in the completion of the 9/11 Chevy include SATA spray-gun technology, Street Dreams
by Ross hinges for the reverse hood and tonneau cover, Transtar Autobody Technologies refinishing products, Westin Automotive truck
accessories, Whelen strobe lights and police sirens, Auto-Air Colors custom paints, Badger air-brush components, Bushwacker fender flares
and Hutchins Manufacturing air sanders.

KICKER personnel Tracy Focht and David Glasgow made the trip to Ground Zero September 6 to witness the unveiling of the first-responder
truck, while also sending thoughts and prayers from the entire KICKER family to those affected by 9/11. The Chevy will next make an
appearance at the Pentagon on the actual anniversary day and at the 2011 SEMA (Specialty Equipment Market Association) Show in Las
Vegas this November.

I'm super anxious to see it in person and get some full photos as well. I know those who were less fortunate than I will appreciate the thoughts and prayers of those paying tribute. Some folks would have loved to be in my shoes since my sister made it out alive and well.

No matter what happens, I'm still proud to be a New Yorker and this story touched my heart.

KICKER Bass Engineering Gets a Square Makeover with the Solo-BaricR L3 Subwoofer

May 7, 2011

The folks at KICKER introducing the new makeover on their Solo-Baric L3 Subwoofer. The
Solo-Baric L3 Subwoofer provides all that is expected from a KICKER subwoofer, plus the extra bass and decibels supplied by Solo-Baric’s innovative square cone.

The Solo-Baric L3 was designed with many of the superior features used by all KICKER subwoofers, but in a square design, KICKER founder and President Steve Irby said.

“For a little more money, you can get more volume, more cone area and more air displacement,” Irby said.

Utilizing KICKER’s most advanced cone design, the Solo-Baric L3’s SoloKon™ technology ensures strength for reliable performance and accurate response. Its injection-molded, ultra-rigid design with vented, 360-degree back-bracing pushes mass quantities of air for louder bass.
The patented corner-ribbed, double-stitched Santoprene surround assists in holding a heavy-duty motor structure in place, providing durability at a high excursion without compromising sound quality.

A strong, stamped-steel basket protects the massive internal motion. Available in 10-, 12- and 15-inch models, Solo-Baric L3 Subwoofers come in 2-Ohm or 4-Ohm DVC models and deliver force from sealed- or vented-box applications.

KICKER Teams Up With Subaru For Audio Upgrades

Mar 1, 2011

KICKER® Performance Audio recently announced that it will partner with auto manufacturer Subaru® of America, Inc. to supply Subaru customers with original equipment (OE) upgrades in specific models. The high-performance Subaru audio upgrades made by KICKER are compatible with all 2008-2011 Impreza™ sedans, Impreza WRX™ sedans, 2011 WRX STI™ sedans, and all 2008-2011 Impreza, Impreza WRX and WRX STI 5-door™ vehicles with navigation or non-navigation audio
systems.

“KICKER is ecstatic to be included in Subaru’s plans going forward,” said Chuck Jones, KICKER Director of OEM. “We believe this fusion of progressing brands should create plenty of excitement in the showroom and on the road.”

The audio system includes a 10-inch powered subwoofer in a molded enclosure made to fit in the trunk or cargo area of the specific model, leaving plenty of trunk cargo space available. The subwoofer is powered by an integrated 100-watt, high-efficiency digital amplifier that is tuned to specifically match the size of the enclosure. The result is deep, powerful bass from a small space, enhancing overall performance and accuracy system-wide. The amplifier connects into the existing Subaru audio system using a true plug-and-play wire harness.

The audio upgrade kits are now available through Subaru dealerships. The upgrade kit may either be installed at the factory port processing facility or at the dealership prior to delivery. MSRP on the subwoofer upgrade is $499.99.

KICKER KS Coaxial Speakers and 3-Way System Provide a Serious Upgrade and Quality Sound

Feb 9, 2011

STILLWATER, USA – Clear, crisp sound from car speakers doesn’t have to be a dream anymore because KICKER® is making it simple to
have some of the loudest and most remarkable coaxials ever hidden behind the door of a vehicle.

KS-Series Coaxial Speakers and 3-Way System are KICKER’s primary drop-in replacements, definitely giving mediocre factory sound a
serious upgrade.

“You won’t lose the subtleties and will keep dynamic, exciting sound,” KICKER founder and President Steve Irby said.

The exceptional KS-Series of speakers utilizes massive motor structures that provide ultimate power handling and high efficiency for louder,
clearer sound. KICKER’s exclusive Extended Voice Coil (EVC™) technology allows for high excursion and superior bass response, while the
tapered polymer cones with tough Santoprene® surrounds deliver smooth midrange frequencies for the most accurate musical reproduction.

The calibrated Kaladex-dome tweeters (half- or three-quarter-inch) with stout neodymium magnets and phase alignment reveal every detail,
adding to the live-performance realism provided by the KS-Series of mobile speakers.

With 10 flexible woofer sizes (they want to make sure they're covered for every type of factory and customized vehicle), the KS-Series ensures a perfect fit in any car, starting from the capable 3 ½-inch coaxials to the beefy 6x9s
boasting 1-inch tweeters. The 6x9-inch KS693 3-Way Speaker System mixes in additional 1-inch midrange drivers with three-quarter-inch
tweeters.

KICKER Performance Audio products, a division of Stillwater Designs and Audio, Inc. , are available for the mobile and home audio
aftermarket at authorized dealers worldwide, and also through selected Original Equipment Manufacturers. Consumers needing more

KICKER DX-Series Power Amplifiers

Jul 5, 2010

So my BFFs at Kicker sent me the new press release for their new DX-Series Power Amplifiers.

New-for-2010 KICKER® DX-Series Amplifiers simply provide reliable, relentless power, and make it affordable for those who seek top features in a high-performance car audio or multimedia system.

A pair of DX.1 Mono-Channel Subwoofer Amplifiers supply all the necessary features expected from high-power, monoblock amplifiers that pulverize subwoofers with energy-saving, Class D power, including the ability to be stable under loads as low as one Ohm. DX Sub Amps are rated at 1,000 watts or 500 watts (1 Ohm at 14.4V).

An additional, often overlooked benefit is that each individual KICKER Amplifier’s actual power always exceeds its rated power, as documented inside the carton. While KICKER amps are always covered by a two-year factory warranty, KICKER will provide an additional one-year extended warranty with the purchase of a qualifying KICKER installation kit at the time of the amplifier purchase.

Why Bernie believes them: Because a lot of car customizers that I know use their products...

Thanks Kicker for the release, and no I didn't get a free amplifier. Well, at least not yet.
