10 years ago, if you would've told me that one of the most amazing car shows is in Indianapolis and that I would actually look forward to going to Indiana, I would've thought you were lying. On September 20th, I made my return to Indianapolis to attend MidwestFest 9.
Usually this particular weekend goes as follows: Friday: Block Party. Saturday daytime: Show. Saturday night: afterparty. Sunday: Watkins Park (since Stunt Sunday was shut down. Although Stunt Sunday was AMAZING, it did cause an insane amount of traffic.) The only difference was Friday with the block party and by the time I arrived, it was too hard to get into the party.
Even though I've been showing up for the past five years, I've seen cars that I've seen before. HOWEVER, there were still a solid percentage of cars that I've never seen before. The percentage of show cars have remained the same- 70% of the cars would be categorized under big rim culture (donks, boxes, bubble, American Musicle, A bodies, F bodies, and G bodies). The other 30% were lowriders, luxury/exotic, Corvettes, vans/trucks and imports.
Like I've been saying, if you love cars as much as you say you do, you should experience MidwestFest at least once in your life. To see the rest of the photos, check out Bernie's MidwestFest 9 gallery.
