Bernie's Car Show Coverage: 2014 New York International Auto Show

Apr 23, 2014

Last week I covered the 114th New York International Auto Show. I always love to go back home, especially if I can cover one of the world's best auto shows. In 2013, I covered the auto show, but it was the last three days so that I could go to New York's tour stop of the Dub Car Show. This year, I went as a part of media and I got to see the show before it was opened to the public. I did give a sneak peek on my instagram (@CarShowBernie), however I'm about to show my better quality photos.

The top three things everyone was looking forward to seeing at the 2014 New York International Auto Show was....

The BMW Lineup. 50th Anniversary of the Ford Mustang, and the US Debut of the Alfa Romero.

But, I'm showing off everything.

One of the vehicles Porsche brought was the 2015 Porsche Macan S, a slightly smaller answer to the Cayenne. 3.0 Liter twin turbo V6 engine with 340 horsepower/339 lb-ft of torque, top speed of 156 mph, and 0-60 mph in 5.6 seconds. MSRP: $50,000 for the base model.

This was the best passenger friendly vehicle, the Porsche Panamera S. I like that the back seat has a complete set of controls to make sure they're equally comfortable.

In case if you don't want the power of the W12 engine, Bentley brought their new Flying Spur V8 vehicle. However, the Bentley that won my heart over was...

The Bentley Continental GTC Speed with a top speed of 340 MPH.

I'm seriously going to have to get use to seeing the new body of the Cadillac Escalade. Maybe it'll grow on me, but it's going to take awhile.

I did develop a crush on the Mercedes Benz CLA-Class. The body was close to it's older sibling, the CLS-Class, but the CLA is the entry level to that class. MSRP is... $30,000, but for the one that I photographed, $32,000. The wheels in my head are turning, but I would prefer the missing performance that the CLS63 AMG provides.

My love, the Mercedes Benz CLS63 AMG.

The redesign of the Chrysler 200 was much needed and well deserved.

A car show in Manhattan will never be complete without a Bugatti. The majority of New Yorkers may not have a license, but there are quite a few that can afford the car above.

Rolls Royce brought three vehicles: A Wraith (Note: the interior was so comfortable.), the Drophead above and...

Rolls Royce introduced the Ghost II.

He's finally here, the new Alfa Romero 4C. However, it was hard for me to get in and out of gracefully.

The other vehicle that was impossible to get out of gracefully... the BMW i8. But this car was definitely the talk of New York.

And the number one vehicle that matters...

The 2015 Ford Mustang 5.0 GT.

I will add more and more photos to this post, so don't be surprised if there's another version or three. But for now, you can check out Bernie's 2014 New York International Auto Show Coverage.

  1. What a great car show! Each of those cars looks fabulous and so spotless! The gleam is great! Each car is so well kept up, it is really nice being able to see each one individually and all of the fun details and features included. Thanks for providing us with these amazing photographs, they really do the cars justice! Great job!

  2. Don’t you hate it when your car gets that first spec of dirt immediately after a wash? That’s where the Coverking Moda Coverbond Universal Car Cover comes in. It protects your car from the elements and keeps it clean longer. sierra car covers
