Blank Stare at The Bumblebee Chevy Cruze
Jul 26, 2011
Chevy continues to ride the wave of Transformers by releasing a special edition Bumblebee Cruze, something like the Bumblebee Camaro like in the United States. According to Autoblog, the car comes with a suitably yellow paint scheme with black accent stripes, as well as an Autobot insignia on the fenders, wheel caps and spread around the interior. Speaking of the insides, illuminated Transformers sill plates are standard fare as well. The standard 1.6-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine is the only available powerplant.
There's just something about this car and I do not like. It's not the customization that was done, I think it's the car. I think when customizations like this are done to cars, I think it works with bigger vehicles. It's like they were trying to jam so much into a small car. Maybe the Cruze to China is like the Camaro is to the United States.
Uh Oh! Chevy Recalls 2,500 Chevy Cruze Sedans
Apr 10, 2011
Chevrolet has issued a recall of 2,100 of the Cruze compact car in the U.S. and 400 units in Canada after one car was discovered to have an improperly attached steering wheel. While the defect sounds terrifying, Chevrolet says the mishap hasn't caused an accident or any injuries. Still sounds scary.
According to The Detroit News, Chevy is confident that only one car had the issue, and the recall is a precautionary measure. According to the story, Chevy says it inspected more than 2,000 vehicles at the plant where the defective Cruze was built and several hundred more at dealerships and didn't find any with a similar fault.
Those affected by the recall will be asked to take their Cruze in to the dealership to be inspected for the fault, which will be repaired for free if a problem is found.
It's bad, but it's not as bad as the many Toyota recalls in 2010. It's scary knowing that you can be driving down the road and the steering wheel pops off.
