Jul 18, 2014

On July 13th 2014, Street Whipz put on their famous King of the South Car Show. One thing Street Whipz can definitely do is put on a GREAT car show. I'm not gonna bore you with words, I'm honestly just ready to show off my coverage. And one thing I absolutely love to do is to show off my photos....

I hope you don't think that this is all that I'm showing off? Well, to see the rest of my photos, go to Bernie's 2014 King of the South Mega Show Gallery.

Oldie but Goodie: C2G Wheels Shows off a Box Chevy on 28s

Sep 12, 2012

Florida's Customization shop, C2G Wheels released a video (awhile ago) of a Box Chevy sitting on 28 inch wheels. Besides the wheels and the obvious lift to fit the wheels, it was also custom painted, custom engine and sound system. Check this out...

You know Florida is serious about their paint.

Benetria and her Donk...

Apr 20, 2010

... As in car, get your mind out of the gutter.

Like I said in a previous post, I went to the 2010 King of Kingz Easter Car Show. I was a little frustrated because of the messiness in the customization of the cars. The first car I saw that I loved, was an 1987 Chevy Caprice Classic, owned by Florida's Own, Benetria.

With how my mind works with customized cars, I don't have to like a particular vehicle. But I can always love what a person does to a vehicle. I'm not into the whole Donk, Box, and Bubble Cars, but if a person puts a lot of love and creativity into it, I will love it and feature it.

I liked it because it was well put together, and it was clean... Nothing was cracked, torn, or frayed.

Pink Candy coated Paint (I'm a sucker for some candy coated paint. It could be puke green and I love it), Lambo Doors, and 24 inch Dub Wheels (South GA/North FL Favorite), the grille looks like it's the original grille, but they re-chromed it.

Let's Step Inside...

Candy Coated Dashboard, Reconstructed steering wheel, TVs in the visors with the outside part of the visor matching the paint, matching pink floormats, gray leather seats with pink piping and inserts with "Hood Rich" stitched into the headrests.

32 inch TV on the passenger side with Playstation 3, iPod connection, complete audio system, TVs coming out the headliner.

Look at the doors: There's no glue anywhere in sight.

I wished that they would have continued the candy coated accents to the trunk around the system. Honestly, that would have completed the vehicle. I know, I'm picky. But watch the interview.

I like it.

Recapping 2010 King of Kingz Easter Car Show

Apr 13, 2010

Instead of spending Easter like most people, I decided to haul the Envoy down 75 to Valdosta for the annual King of Kingz Easter Car Show. This was my first time going to Valdosta and I like going to places I’ve never been to before. The worst part of the show was the HEAT. I’m not built for hot weather and being sweaty.

I love to see the different creativity of a different area. I lived in Atlanta for almost three years, so I know the creativity there. I tragically lived in Savannah for 4.5 years and seen the “creativity” there. I’m hard on Savannah, because I lived there and you deserve it. So when you go to a different area, it’s fun, cause you get to see their style.

Now at this car show, I saw two vehicles that made my eyes twinkle. Two cars that I would never drive, but I loved what they did to their cars, they didn’t hold anything back, so I’m giving them each their own post.

But I’m gonna tear the cars apart right now…

The one thing that I noticed and I wanted to scream was the sloppiness of some of the vehicles. I shouldn’t see glue or frayed fabric. Example, this Box Chevy with the Dior fabric. Still had the Dub tires, custom interior and paint job, speakers in the oddest places… But look at this photo:

LOOK AT THE FRAYED FABRIC!!! All you’se need is a pair of scissors to clean it up.

I would have counted this vehicle in my top two, but they could have taken it off of the trailer/tow thingy. If I can drive from Atlanta to Valdosta, alone, and in the heat, surely you can put the car on the ground. I loved how the doors did a 290. (If the doors did a 360, then it would have went in a complete circle), 8 speakers in one door, custom paint job, still loving those Dub Wheels, TVs where the dashboard would be, and more speakers than I have fingers and toes.

I loved this Box Chevy with the shade of Blue, the cartoon doggies painted on it, how they rebelled and didn’t use Dub Wheels. But my love died when I saw the interior.

I should have done some close-ups with the dried glue around the speakers. I would have suggested an episode of Unique Whips or any customizing show for them to know that you don’t use glue, you use a staple gun so it’ll last.

There were some cars that should have been in the show, and not in the parking lot, like these three, but what can you do.

I had fun at the King Of Kingz Car Show, and I will be back in 2011. But for more photos, head to 2010 King of Kingz Car Show Gallery

Upcoming Car Show: 2010 King of Kingz Easter Car Show

Recapping 2009 "Funkmaster Flex" Car Show in Louisville, KY

Mar 21, 2010

I put Funkmaster Flex in quotes cause he didn’t show. I went to this show because I thought Flex was going to be there and also cause I’ve never been to KY. I immediately thought that the show was gonna be a bunch of barely customized cars and that was it. I’m happy to say that Louisville proved me wrong.

Corvette
One of my favs was the Yellow Corvette. It was actually customized- multiple speakers and TVs in the doors,

Corvette
Yellow and Black interior, ostrich on the seats,

Corvette
big screen TV and speakers in the trunk. Look at the photos I took…

Dough Boy Monte CarloCorvetteCorvette
Another customized fav was the Dough Boy Fresh Monte Carlo. I like how the interior was coordinated and CLEAN. Everything matches wile keeping the old school appeal to it.

But the best vehicle here isn’t meant for the highway. This six year old boy has an Escalade EXT. Let’s run down the list…

Toy Escalade
Custom paint job
Custom exhaust
Custom Interior
Tinted windows
Navigational System
Custom wheels and…
An audio system that sounds better than what’s in some people’s cars.

Toy EscaladeToy Escalade

If this is what Franco’s truck looks like now, wait until he gets his first real set of wheels. I’m just sayin….

Of course, there were the vehicles that made you wonder what the owner was thinking:
H2
like the H2 on Daytons,
Escalade
the hideous body kit on this Escalade

Tahoe

and the Tahoe with the ridiculous rear bumper.
