Bernie's Car Show Coverage: 2011 World of Wheels (Atlanta) Show

Jan 26, 2011

This past weekend, I had the opportunity to return to the World of Wheels Car Show at the Georgia World Congress Center here in Atlanta, GA. What I love most about this show is that it's not like the shows that I normally attend. The World of Wheels tends towards Hot Rods as well as vintage vehicles. I was bummed cause I didn't get to see the one vintage/old school car that I want, but the guys that I had the opportunity of speaking to was impressed that I would want the car that they used to "drive across country" on the classic show, I Love Lucy.

Anyway, on to the cars...

Like this 1966 Chevy C-10.

Chevy Bel-Airs were popular at the show. The owner of this particular Bel-Air was very nice. His friend also made sure that I got some photos of his car as well...

And if you're not positive of the make and model of this candy apple red car is...

How about this 1933 Ford Phaeton:

I want to know how grumpy is Ed? Either way, Grumpy Ed is on the side of this 1950 Chevy Pickup Truck

1929 Ford Tudor:

Engine Work to a Corvette:

1969 Chevy Chevelle SS with an adorable blue paint job:

I know you're wondering what's that white piece of paper in the window of this 1956 Ford Thunderbird. It's the ORIGINAL invoice from East Point Ford when the owner purchased this car. The owner bought it February 6, 1956 and only spent $2990.99. My, how times have changed.

Well, since everyone informed me that a 1955 Pontiac Star Chief is hard to come across, if I can't get it, I found two replacements:

An Early 60's Chevy Corvette Convertible (which would have to be painted black)

And an 1965 Ford Mustang.

Of course, these two cars don't have the significance that the Star Chief carries, but what can you do.

For more photos, check out my 2011 World of Wheels Gallery... and see you next year!!!

P.S. How come there isn't a World of Wheels tour stop in New York???
