Dub Car Show is heading to the mile high state of Colorado, and pulling into Denver. It will be on August 22nd, at the Elitch Gardens from 10am-9pm. I hate how they say "rain or shine" knowing some people will not come out in the rain. I know I won't. Can't get the hair wet...
I know some Denver Nuggets will be out there. Don't Carmelo have a serious car game??? I know LaLa does.
BOTH photos shot by the photographer that I have the most respect for and I try to highlight as many as his photos on here as humanly possible, Jonathan Mannion... the Great.
Enough of my gushing over Jonathan. So I got my mittens on this track of Usher feat. Jay-Z and I love it. I'm the type of person who thinks that Jay-Z can do nothing wrong. (except for two albums: Kingdom Come and American Gangster. He definitely did wrong by those. Still love you Shawn.) But here's the track, and if you like it, click on Usher's photo. If you click on Jay-Z's photo, it'll take you to Jonathan Mannion.com
The Legendary Convertible Bertt is an established brand out of Atlanta that is creating their own lane as far as blending muscle cars and affordable fashion. Primarily a men's line (women's line is coming soon) that consists of T-Shirts and Racing Shirts that incorporates the young and old aspects of the muscle car culture. Convertible Bertt is well known for designing the "I Am the Street Dream" shirt that was worn by Young Jeezy.
I had the opportunity to interview D. Mapp, owner of Convertible Bertt and he provided a better insight into the history of the brand, his love of muscle cars, and what's next out of the Convertible Bertt empire.
Of course, I included my favorites out of the house of Convertible Bertt, and click on the photo for more information...
(This hat has been seen on Lil' Wayne on his Behind the Music on VH-1...)
Don't sleep on Convertible Bertt... After all, they did say "We would rather fail at trying to succeed at something different, than succeed for about two weeks in doing something everyone else is doing."
Out of the house of Alpine Electronics, they've come up with a way for Subwoofers to be less bulky and not lose it's high quality sound.
Those subs are thin.
So I've picked out the key aspects of the Press Release
The new SWR-T10 10-inch and SWR-T12 12-inch Type-R Thin subwoofers are Alpine’s first foray into the specialized market of thin subwoofers.
The Type-R Thin subwoofers have been totally designed from the ground up, redefining how thin subwoofers are engineered and perform. Their unique design earned them a CES Innovations 2010 Design and Engineering Award for the In-Vehicle Audio category.
They can handle power and produce industry-leading 15 mm of one-way Xmax and over 50 mm of peak-to-peak excursion just like traditional subwoofers. Yet with mounting depths of just 3.25 inches for the SWR-T10 and 3.5 inches for the SWR-T12, they can still fit into compact spaces for a multitude of installation options.
Speaking of installation options:
Both subwoofers are optimized to fit into small enclosures. The SWR-T10 10-inch subwoofer needs a sealed enclosure of just 0.35 cubic feet, or a ported enclosure of 0.6 cubic feet. The SWR-T12 12-inch subwoofer fits into a sealed enclosure of only 0.6 cubic feet, or a ported enclosure of 1 cubic foot.
Users who want a truly custom application could consider mounting a Type-R Thin subwoofer in a custom door panel, inside or under the glove box, in a custom headliner enclosure, under a seat, or even under a custom center console.
The SWR-T10 is available for $500 SRI, while the SWR-T12 is available for $550 SRI. Both subwoofers can be found at authorized Alpine retailers.
And the assistant vice president of sales for Alpine Electronics, Mike Anderson, says “Alpine’s traditional Type-R subwoofers are popular and trusted among car audio enthusiasts. As an extension of the Type-R lineup, it was essential that the Type-R Thins live up to the performance of the traditional Type-R subwoofers. The new SWR-T10 and SWR-T12 exceed this expectation, and users will not be disappointed.”

One thing about me is that I'm very proud of where I was born and raised. I spent close to 19 years in New York and it make me the eccentric (polite version of strange) person that I am today. I love most things New York. I don't like the insane cost of living, (if it wasn't for that, I would be typing this in a Borders in NY instead of a Borders in Atlanta) and I really could care less for this guy, and a few other things. But like most New Yorkers, I do embrace most things NY even down to the New York Accent that I'm still holding on to and I have a huge sense of pride for the Empire State.
At the DUB show in Englishtown, I came across this Chrysler 300 that reminded me of what I've been holding on to since September 13, 2002 (the day I left NY for good). It was a car that highlighted different landmarks in NY. Even though the owner wasn't fluent in English, he was able to find his friend for me to talk to.
A day I will never forget
I'm not sure how the angels play a part in it, but okay.
And yes, Yankee Stadium is airbrushed on the rear bumper. Look for it in the video, and the soundtrack makes me feel like I'm outside of Grandma's house in the Bronx...
Now the interesting part is that you CAN rent this car for $65. And since I'm the person that I am, don't be surprised if I rent this the next time I go home. I wonder if I can get the CD that he was playing as an addition to the car. But for more rental info on Manny's Chrysler 300, check out his myspace or shoot him an email at sequoiachrysler@hotmail.com
