Reminder: if you'se gonna be in San Diego on May 23rd....

May 17, 2010

The Funkmaster Flex Car Tour will be in San Diego in conjunction with the Extreme Autofest Car Show. And judging by the line up of the events, this looks like a long car show. Tell me if I'm wrong: The Car Show competition, the live concert, swimsuit competition, stunk bike demo, lowrider competition, car audio competition, lazer tag (not sure how that fits in, but okay), and then whatever Funkmaster Flex has planned. So this looks like an car show that's at least 8 hours of non-stop action.

I guess LaLa couldn't unload the keys to her Range....

May 14, 2010

I'd figured this because Vibe Magazine followed her around for the day, which means they photographed her...

... hopping out the Range Rover. Now I'm a fan of customized vehicles, and we know that a certain rapper from Harlem did have a pink Rover before she did. What bothered me is that shade of pink. I'm not a pink girl, but if one does decide to paint a vehicle pink, I would suggest a lighter shade, instead of a darker, fluorescent color.

Let's talk customizations, shall we...

  • This 2006 Range Rover Sport was painted "LaLa Pink" which was customized just for her by Sherwin Williams.
  • 22" Chrome DUB wheels (I would have color-matched the wheels. Might as well go all the way.)
  • Custom upholstery with microphones stitched in
  • All wood paneling removed and replaced with suede
  • A technology ride system was installed
  • JL audio speakers which match the factory watts level that originally came on the SUV
  • $10,000 STRUT Grill
  • Two different manifolds on the exhaust to give it a growl sound
  • LaLa's name is stamped on the back of the vehicle
Originally, she wanted to auction it off last year on ebay with the starting bid at $25,000. Is it me, or was that starting out bid a little cheap for a 3 year old customized Range with low miles (24,000 at the time of the auction). According to LaLa she said that “I want to get something different and I want somebody else to enjoy the car the way I did and get all the attention in the world and be the coolest person in the world because nobody else has a hot pink Range Rover.” Apparently she hasn't caught up with Cam'ron in a hot minute...

Honestly, I'm more of a fan of Paris Hilton's Pink Bentley. It's a lighter pink, but pink isn't exactly a common color that you would purchase a vehicle in. Orange is more common, even Doo-Doo Brown is, but hot pink...

Watch Capone Kustoms on YouTube as they break it down...

I know Carmelo doesn't drive this....

Wrecked Exotics and the Hummer H2's on them...

May 13, 2010

I'm all for any blog that highlights the stupidity of some people. But Wrecked Exotics is a blog about exotic vehicles that are wrecked. The worst part about the site isn't the photos, it's the backstories that accompany the photos.

If a photo doesn't have a story, you can tell whether or not if the driver of the exotic vehicle is at fault. Bernie's a compassionate girl to an extent. Some of the cars on there weren't at fault. There's cars that were hit by other cars, 18 Wheelers, etc. I'll feel bad if and only if that was the case. However, if you're in the majority, where you wrecked your car because you decided to do 130 mph in the snow in a BMW 645ci, and then you're sitting there looking like Boo-Boo the Fool cause you're wondering why you lost control of the vehicle. Or your drunk behind decided to drive a Mercedes S550 and flipped it over. OR if the top speed of your Bentley Continental GT's top speed is 180 mph, and you decided to test that 180 mph on a dark road, and you crash into a guardrail, and then you're sitting on the side of the road looking like Boo-Boo the Fool explaining to the cops why your Bentley is all twisted in the guardrail.

And after going to the site, there's people who's actual goals is to have their car appear on the site.

Is it me, or are the majority of these accidents take place in Russia??? Note to self, don't ever drive in Russia or Brighton Beach in Brooklyn. (Large population of Russian speaking individuals)

I'm kicking things off by highlighting the hardest vehicle to total... The Hummer H2, and surprisingly, there's people who has met the challenge WITHOUT an 18-wheeler involved. If you click on the photo, it'll take you to the Wrecked Exotic page of that vehicle.

This is what happens when you run into a parked car... in Russia.

Hydroplaned and rolled over. You know this happened in the US... look at the wheels.

I have no idea what they're putting down in Saudi Arabia, but they can have it.

In Sacramento, Cali, the idiot broke the wheel off, and click on the photo to find out how they did it.

Everyone walked away safe with minor cuts, but I wouldn't ride in a vehicle with them.

Now for the Top 3:

At number three, this Portugese idiot pushed it to the limit in this yellow Hummer...

At number two: this Denver smuck decided to speed through a construction zone and had a run in with some cement with this once lovely white Hummer...

And at number one: This New Jersey trick decides to drive fast in the rain over a small bridge and look what happens to the black Hummer...

P.S. Drivers like her is the reason why New Jersey is still holding strong of having the highest insurance in the country and why Hummer H2 are one of the highest insured vehicles. And I hope the kids wasn't in the car with her. And did you get a look at the last sentence: "But no worries, she's getting another one in white :)" Wherever Bernardsville is in NJ (Note: middle of nowhere), I will not be driving in the rain over there.

And you know I'm coming back with more...

Revisiting Kim Kardashian's Serious "Kar" Game, Part I

May 12, 2010

Just by looking at her, you wouldn't think her car game would be that serious. But it is... When Keeping Up With the Kardashians first started, she drove a white 2007 Range Rover Sport Supercharged. Let's talk specs real quick cause I really like this SUV.

510 horsepower LR-V8 5.0-liter supercharged Engine, with 6-speed automatic transmission. (I'm bad with my 275 that the 'Voy gives me, imagine what I can do with 510...)
0-60 in 7.2 seconds
Top Speed- 140 mph
Fuel- 12/18 mpg
Body- Length: 195.7 inches Width: 80.1 inches Height: 73.4 inches
Wheelbase- 113.3 in

MSRP- $95,000

Kim’s customizations were gifts for hosting a “House of Hype” Grammy party where Platinum Motorsport, Strut and JL Audio were sponsors of the event. They used her Rover as a display piece at the event. Lucky her...

This is what she had done
Changed the black "Range Rover" lettering to pink
Added a Strut Grille Package, in which the Grille was painted white with pink accents.
The wheels are 24×10-inch Platinum PT1s laced with Cooper Zeon XST 295/35R24 tires with pink “princess” logos on the wheel’s center caps, pink emblems and color matched pink Brembo brake calipers.
Platinum Motorsports also provided Kim’s pink Range with a fully customized exhaust system

In the back, the audio system boasts two JL Audio 500/1 and one 300/4 amps, two 12-inch W6-V2 subwoofers, and two pairs of 6.5-inch component speakers.

It was Kim's idea to have the pink added to her Range Rover because she was tired of people asking if she was driving her boyfriend’s car and not hers. “I’ve always had the coolest cars, which sometimes seems like a guy should be driving them,” she says. “I wanted a car no boy would ever want to drive and for people to know a girl is driving such a cool car."

I wished she would have taken it a step further and do the interior as well instead of leaving it the factory black and white... C'est La Vie.

But she auctioned it off on Ebay along with some of her clothing. And she replaced this SUV for a Black Bentley Continental GTC and a Black Range Rover, which will be explored later...

Bernie's Favorite: Unique Smoke Edition Camaro

May 11, 2010

I'm not being biased, alright, I am, but anything that has the "UA" (Unique Autosport) brand, is bound to be hot and clean...

(Photo from Tony Stewart Foundation

This isn't the first time that Will Castro of Unique Autosport and Nascar's own, Tony Stewart have teamed up. The latest between the two is a fully customized Camaro SS.

Ain't it pretty???

Let's talk about what's been done to it. If you have watched Unique Whips, you know that Will uses top of the line materials, so you really do get what you paid for. You pay a lot, you get a lot, and it lasts, unless if you decide to kick it or something...

Think of the stock Camaro SS, but with the final modifications:

  • Strut wheels with 22” Pirelli tires (huge surprise)
  • Black and White Painted Strut grille
  • Spies Hecker paint on a Glam Effect body kit by Classic Design Concepts
  • Smoked tail lights
  •  Tinted Windows
  • A Roadwire interior which will add comfort and style
  • JL Audio equipment
  •  State‐of‐the‐art filter and intake system by K&N. (If you saw the episode, they said that the filter will last for a million miles...)
  •  Borla Exhaust system
  • And finally, Baer Brakes

I think it looks pretty... but not as pretty as Pamela Anderson's trailer that Will customized. Don't judge me...
